The complex ac susceptibility is analytically derived for a long cylinder with a hard superconducting core and a normal
conducting shell under a longitudinally applied ac magnetic field of amplitude
Hm. The core obeys the critical-state model with a constant critical-current density
Jc
and the shell obeys Ohm’s law with a constant conductivity
σ. The low-frequency dependences of and upon Hm/Hp
(Hp
being the full penetration field of the core) at various radius-filling fractions of the core are
evaluated and their features are discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
