This cross-sectional study aimed to compare pre-competitive anxiety and burnout symptoms of adolescents participating in the Arapiraca-AL School Games according to age group and practice time. Participated in the research 120 young adolescents (101 boys and 19 girls) participating in the futsal (n = 94) and handball (n = 26) in the the Arapiraca-AL School Games in the year 2020. The instruments used were a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory (CSAI-2R) and the Athletes Burnout Questionnaire (ABQ). Data analysis was conducted performed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and “U” Mann-Whitney tests (p <0.05). The results showed that adolescents had a higher self-confidence score (Md = 5.00), followed by cognitive anxiety (Md = 3.20) and somatic anxiety (Md = 2.83). Regarding burnout, score a higher was observed in the reduced sense of dimension of accomplishment (Md = 2.83), followed by the dimensions of physical and emotional exhaustion (Md = 2.50) and sports devaluation (Md = 2.14) . No significant difference was found (p> 0.05) found when comparing the dimensions of pre-competitive anxiety and burnout according to the time of practice (Table 3). It was concluded that age and time of practice were not involved in the symptoms of pre-competitive anxiety and burnout of adolescents participating in the School Games.
