Introduction: A socio-demographic analysis of marriage and family requires conducting deep studies penetrating the essence of the processes among the population. The issue of birth-rate, as a basic factor that determines the reproduction of the population, takes a central position in the demographic studies. The study of the influence of the mothers’ reproductive behaviour on their daughters’ repro-ductive attitude is of an undisputed interest. This study deals with mothers’ realized plans as a factor in their daughters’ family planning. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out in 2018 through a direct group anonymous inquiry among 395 female students. The statistical processing of the data was made with descriptive, alternative, correlation and variance analyses. Results: The students’ reproductive behaviour is statistically significantly dependent on their mothers’ realized family plans. Moth-ers’ education and the real number of children are statistically significant factors for their daughters’ views about the ideal and planned number of children. Conclusion: This study of the reproductive behaviour of the students advances the knowledge in the field by revealing that it is statisti-cally significantly dependent on their mothers’ realized plans.
Osteoporosis is a generalized bone disease characterized by diminished bone strength with an increased risk of fractures. Osteoporosis is a major health concern, both because of the risk of potentially serious fractures and because its prevalence is increasing as the population ages. The treatment of the disease is complex and includes adherence to a particular diet, medications (hormone replacement therapy, calcium, vitamin D, etc.), kinesitherapy, physiotherapy and orthotics. To reduce osteoporosis, it is necessary to avoid the risk of fractures, to do regular physical activities, to eat bone-healthy foods, to lead a proper lifestyle with the avoidance of negative habits and to maintain a healthy weight. A person also needs to have knowledge of personal risk factors and to consult a doctor if medical treatment is to be applied. The classic therapeutic approach is with antiresorptive anti-osteoporosis agents. A promising therapeutic trend is the study of compounds with low toxicity and potential properties to influence the pathogenetic mechanisms of disease and oxidative stress, such as phytoestrogens and hormone replacement therapy, at the same time. The aim of the article is to familiarize the audience with the preventive measures and therapies applied to the treatment of osteoporosis.
The aims of this study were to investigate the extent and benefits of ICT usage; barriers to learning content management systems (LCMS) deployment; perception and attitude to e-learning of the academic staff in the healthcare majors at the Medical University – Plovdiv. The results indicated that the educators use technologies extensively, they are experienced with computers but this is not a predisposition for teaching in the LCMS. Staff demonstrates acceptance of e-learning and critical attitude to its implementation, but the activity in the LCMS is low. Leading barriers in e-course creation are the heavy workload and the need for support in creating interactive learning content. A training course framework is proposed.
Chronic low back pain is a heterogeneous group of disorders with recurrent low back pain over 3 months. The high incidence of lumbago is an important phenomenon in our industrial society. Patients with chronic low back pain often receive multidisciplinary treatment. The bio approach, the psycho-approach, and the social approach optimally reduce the risk of chronicity by providing rehabilitation for patients with persistent pain after the initial acute phase. Damage to the structures of the spinal cord and the occurrence of low back pain as a result of evolutionary, social and medical causes disrupt the rhythm of life and cause less or greater disability. Recovery of patients with low back pain is not limited only to influencing the pain syndrome but requires the implementation of programs to eliminate the complaints that this pathology generates in personal, family and socio-professional terms. This paper aims to familiarize the audience with the medication used, and the programs for active recovery in patients suffering from chronic low back pain.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
