Summary: Check the effect of TENS on the cutaneous healing process. A cross-sectional, experimental, prospective study with intervention in Wistar rats. Measurements of wound contraction and integument samples were collected and analyzed histologically, using mast cell number and vascular density analysis. Statistical analysis revealed that the wound area reduced in the experimental group compared to the control group. In the mast cell count and vascular density, a reduction was observed for the variables in the experimental group in relation to the control group. The healing process was more accelerated and efficient in the group of treated animals.
