Indonesia has much marine tourism potential to be developed, but there has been a significant decrease of visits to the main marine tourism destinations in Indonesia, one of whichis Banten Province. Among the various factors that led to the decline of tourist visits, weak promotion strategy is suspected to be noteworthy. This research was conducted to analyse strategy and promotion activity regarding Banten Province during the last three years. The results show that the promotion strategy is not consistent with the strengths and opportunities that Banten Province requires and weaknesses and threats it must overcome to be a leading tourist destination in Indonesia.
ABSTRAK.Masyarakat Bugis terkenal sebagai pelaut ulung di Indonesia yang telah menjelajahi seluruh wilayah nusantara.Oleh karena itu permukiman masyarakat Bugis dapat ditemukan di hampir seluruh wilayah Indonesia, terutama di kawasan pesisir.Di pantai Utara Jakarta juga terdapat satu kampung nelayan Bugis, yaitu di wilayah Kamal Muara.Karakter fisik dari permukiman ini menunjukkan ciri-ciri arsitektur vernacular Bugis yang dapat dilihat dari bentuk rumah-rumahnya.Akan tetapi, kondisi lingkungan yang berbeda dengan di tempat asalnya memaksa masyarakat kampung Bugis tersebut untuk beradaptasi baik terhadap lingkungan fisik maupun lingkungan sosial budayanya.Adaptasi tersebut menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan-perubahan pada bentuk dan pola perkampungannya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh adaptasi terhadap bentuk rumah dan pola kampung yang dibandingkan dengan arsitektur Bugis yang asli.Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif.Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan dan wawancara kepada informan kunci termasuk beberapa pemilik rumah.Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah teridentifikasinya adapatasi bentuk arsitektur dan pola kampung terkait dengan kondisi lingkungan dan sosial budaya. Kata kunci : adaptasi, vernakular, arsitektur, nelayan, kampung ABSTRACT.Bugis people are famous as the best sailor in Indonesia who have sailed all over the archipelago. Their settlements can be found all over the country especially in the coastal area. Kamal Muara is one of the Bugis fishermen village located in the North coast of Jakarta. The physical character of this settlement demonstrates Bugis vernacular architecture which is especially noticeable in the form of its houses. However, the new place has forced the people to adapt to the physical environment as well as to the social and cultural environment. Consequently, the adaptation caused changes of architectural shapes and the pattern of the village. This objective of this research was to find out the influence of the adaptation to the house form and village pattern that was compared to its original Bugis Architecture. The method of this research was qualitative descriptive research. The data was collected through field study, observation, and interview to the key informants including the owner of the houses. The outcomes of this research is the identification of the adaptation in architectural form and village pattern related to the environmental condition and the sociocultural problem. Pembangunan rumah susun sederhana dipercaya oleh Pemerintah Daerah Khusus Ibukota (DKI) Jakarta sebagai salah satu jalan keluar penyediaan kebutuhan rumah layak huni dan sekaligus perbaikan lingkungan di DKI Jakarta. Namun demikian penyediaannya belum didukung oleh sistem pengelolaan yang baik dan efisien. Alih-alih mencapai tujuan seperti yang diharapkan, rumah susun sederhana malah seperti memindahkan kekumuhan horizontal menjadi kekumuhan vertikal. Tulisan ini disarikan dari hasil kajian tentang pengelolaan rumah susun yang dibangun oleh Pemerintah Daerah DKI Jakarta. Kajian yang menggunakan kaidah kualitatif dengan wawancara dan observasi lapangan ini selain menghasilkan kesimpulan tentang potret pengelolaan yang ada saat ini serta dampaknya terhadap kualitas bangunan dan lingkungan. Pada bagian akhir dihasilkan beberapa usulan dan rekomendasi model pengelolaan rumah susun sederhana yang sesuai diterapkan di DKI Jakarta.
Menteng Atas is a sub district (Kelurahan) in Southern Jakarta -Indonesia, under the district (Kecamatan) of Setiabudi. As a common crowded settlement in urban area, this location facing multi problems related to physical environment. Built environment with very high density and not well-arranged of fronts and position, also do not meet standards of healthy construction and environment are the main problems of Menteng Atas that brings to disasters such as flooding and fire. This paper explored how members of Menteng Atas community perceive their everyday surroundings within the context of an environment that has rapidly changed, primarily due to urban development. This paper also discuss how far they aware about their environment, the disasters prevention, and what they wants for the future of their environment. The study was start from the inside of the local community. Symbolic communication varies from one situation to the next were founded by studying the accounts, explanations, and social action that are meaningful to a group of people. This paper is trying to present and identify perception of host community on their own environment especially related to disasters prevention, and end up with some recommendations to achieve sustainable housing and settlement at this area.
