The aim of the study was to determine the status of the creativity quotient (CQ) in 120 students of 10th grade in High school for gifted student, Hanoi National University of Education and define the association between some environmental factors and CQ. The method to determine CQ was the test for creative thinking - drawing production (TCT-DP). The results showed that 3% of the students were at A level, 15% are B level, 23% are C level, 44% are D level, 7% are E level, 6% are F level and 2% are G level. Some factors related to family characteristics that reduce the risk of low CQ and increase the posibility of high CQ were: stable occupation of parents, number of children in the family, strict mother, supportive parents when children make mistakes. Factors about children's activities that helped increase their creativity include: volunteer to be a class official, enroll in extracurricular clubs, participating in the artistic activities and enjoy artistic activities.
The increasing prevalence of high blood pressure in adolescents is an alarming global health problem, coupled with the rise in obesity and sedentary lifestyles. The aim of this study was to examine the associations between overweight, obesity, and pre-hypertension, and hypertension among adolescents aged 15 - 17 years in Hai Phong city. The case-control study was conducted on 1,000 students at Dong Hoa High School, Hai Phong city. The control group consisted of 730 students with normal systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The case group included 270 students with pre-hypertension and hypertension according to the diagnostic criteria of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The study results showed that the proportion of students with pre-hypertension and hypertension was quite high, 12.2% and 14.8%, respectively. The prevalence of pre-hypertension and hypertension in male students was significantly higher than in female students (P < 0.001). After adjusting for age and sex, overweight and obesity were statistically significantly associated with the risk of pre-hypertension, and hypertension with OR values of 2.2 (95%CI: 1.4-3.4) and 7.1 (95%CI: 3.0 - 16.5), respectively. Thus, overweight and obesity increases the risk of pre-hypertension and hypertension in adolescents aged 15 - 17 at Dong Hoa High School, Hai Phong city.
Reproductive health education should focus on developing students' problem-solving competence through real-life situations. This study was conducted to determine the integrated address, build the topics of integrated reproductive health education in the chapter “Reproduction” - Biology 11, from which to evaluate the effectiveness of improving the problem-solving competence among students in Tra Vinh province. A intervention study was conducted on 160 students (17 years old) of two high schools in Tra Vinh province. Rubric was used to assess the problem-solving competence of learners. Two integrating reproductive health education topics were built in chapter “Reproduction”, forming and developing problem-solving competence for students. From the knowledge and skills related to reproductive health that students acquired through the two topics, the abilities to learn and detect problems; collect and analyze information, find knowledge related to the problem; make a plan to implement the solution; propose and select solutions; implement solutions; evaluate and adjust the solution; applied in situations related to reproductive health of students were developed. Scores for each criterion of problem-solving competence of students in the experimental class were significantly higher than those in the control class (P < 0.05) in each case exercise, as well as after finishing the two topics. Thus, integrating reproductive health education through two designed topics has improved the problem-solving competence of grade 11 students in Tra Vinh province.
