Every year the provincial, district or city education authorities, and other parties carry out competency improvement activities for teachers including for school counsellors. An indepth examination of school counsellor needs will help these authorities provide appropriate training which in turn can save on budget expenditures in the long run. This study aims to examine the training needs of school counsellors. The approach used is a qualitative approach with an implementation period of three years. The subjects in this study were school counsellors who were involved in trainings carried out by the provincial and district education offices for three years, which come from all over Aceh Province. The results showed that a deeper attention on skill mastery is needed rather than conceptual coverage. Recommendation for topics and method of training are discussed.
The issue of the existence of the technological revolution 4.0 a mid Indonesian society, especially Aceh, encouraged educators to continue to transform the education system. It is, of course, related to the challenges of teachers' readiness, including early childhood teachers, in shaping a smart and intelligent generation of Aceh in the global industrial era 2045. In the future, each generation of Aceh will become a public need and is expected to be able to compete from all sides of life both locally and internationally. With the rapid development of appropriate technology in education, the skills of early childhood teachers are needed in modifying learning. Thus, it can sharpen the mind of students in the fields of science, technology, language, and art. Based on today's data, education in Aceh is left behind than that of other regions in Indonesia. This is far from reality and expectation of the motto "Aceh Carong". This phenomenon continues to motivate educators to renovate and find solutions until the education system can educate its generation according to technological needs. The application of the STEM approach is seen as an innovation in modern education to improve scientific and creative thinking skills. This literature study can answer the objectives, potential, and challenges of STEM application in early childhood education. The study findings are also expected to increase teacher understanding of the importance of applying this approach in early childhood learning and to support the practice of teacher professional development in the future.Keywords: STEM, Challenges, Objective, Potential
The research entitled The Use of Diorama Learning Media on Student Motivation in Class X Social Sciences 2 SMA Negeri 1 Rundeng District". This study aims to determine the effect of using diorama learning media on students' motivation to learn history at SMA Negeri 1 Rundeng District. This study uses a qualitative approach while the type of research is descriptive. The subjects in this study were all students of class X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Rundeng District, totaling 17 students. Sampling technique using purposive sample or sample purpose. selecting this sample was based on the teacher's reference which allowed the data collection techniques to be used were observation, interviews and documentation.Meanwhile, the data analysis technique in this study begins with data reduction, then data model (data display), and ends with verification (conclusion) Based on the data analysis carried out, the average level of motivation obtained by students in class X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 R undeng District is highly motivated. Based on the calculation of the percentage scores obtained by students in class X IPS 2 consisting of 82%, 90%, 94%, 96%, 98%, 100% and if added as a whole, the average percentage score is 88%, the results fall into the category very motivated. It can be concluded that there is an effect of using diorama learning media on the motivation to learn the history of students in class X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 1 Rundeng District.
