Language politics spirited by the nuances of language preservation is reflected in Indonesia education milieu. The realization of the language preservation attempt includes the stipulation of Indonesia language as the language of education bring about an obligation to use the language as a tool of communication in educational environment include in students' examination. Therefore, lecturers and students should ideally master the use of standard language to be implemented in academic. This research is to highlight lecturers' writing skill. This study aims to describe language errors in the Final Examination test items at University level. These test items are the example of lecturer writing skills output. The research method used was qualitative research design with a descriptive approach. The 170 items of samples were taken by using purposive techniques. Errors were identified in 140 items (82.35%), consisting of 21 types of errors. A number of these errors are classified into 4 types i.e. errors in the aspects of grammar rules (47.37%), semantics (21.05%), syntax (17.22%), and morphology (14.35%). The dominated errors appeared in the grammatical rule aspect. This may be due to the lack of activities to improve language competence for lecturers. This description can be used as a basis for the policy makers to organize programs to improve lecturer academic language competence domain.
Pembangunan wilayah merupakan isu yang cenderung muncul, terutama di negara berkembang. Salah satu potensi yang dapat dikembangkan oleh pemerintah ialah aspek pariwisata. Pengembangan potensi tersebut dapat turut berkontribusi dalam pembangunan suatu wilayah. Akan tetapi, pencapaian hasil pengembangan yang maksimal dapat tercapai apabila didukung oleh unsur-unsur di dalamnya meliputi pemerintah dan masyarakat. Dengan kata lain, ketidakseimbangan antara target pemerintah dan kapasitas masyarakat dapat menghambat ketercapaian target. Kendala yang mungkin muncul ialah ketidakmaksimalan kemampuan promosi wisata masyarakat. Kendala serupa dialami oleh masyarakat Desa Citengah Kabupaten Sumedang. Desa tersebut diproyeksikan untuk dijadikan Desa Wisata karena potensi wisata yang dimilikinya. Upaya yang ditempuh untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut ialah pihak Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia menjalin kemitraan dengan Disparbudpora Kabupaten Sumedang. Upaya tersebut direalisasikan melalui pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di desa terkait. Bentuk kegiatan yang ditawarkan kepada masyarakat ialah Pelatihan Komunikasi Multimodalitas Untuk Peningkatan Kemampuan Promosi Para Penggiat Wisata di Desa Citengah Kabupaten Sumedang. Perumusan pelatihan tersebut didasarkan pada permasalahan yang muncul dan relevansi keilmuan pelaksana kegiatan PkM. Secara umum, pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi multimodalitas untuk keperluan komunikasi bagi para penggiat wisata di Desa Citengah, membangun kemandirian khalayak sasaran dalam mempromosikan potensi wisata Desa Citengah dengan menggunakan fasilitas yang tersedia. Kegiatan PkM ini dilakukan selama tujuh bulan sejak Juni sampai Desember 2018. Hasil evaluasi mengarah pada beberapa kesimpulan di antaranya masyarakat Desa Citengah cenderung menyadari indikator-indikator yang menjadi karakteristik Desa Wisata, mampu melakukan promosi wisata melalui media sosial dan website, mampu mengelola website yang dibuat untuk keperluan promosi wisata di Desa Citengah.
Achieving the purpose of learning is one of the objectives of education implementation. Learning models selection that suit the learning objectives and students' characteristics can be a contributing factor to learning goal achievement. One of the learning models that is in line with Merdeka Belajar -Kampus Merdeka policy applied in Indonesia is the Active Learning model. This research aims to illustrate the implementation of active learning models in English learning for professional nurses and students' responses. The research subjects were 1 lecturer and 138 nursing students. Data analysed were learning activities, learning documents, as well as perceptions of lecturer and students. The data was taken by using observations, interviews, document studies, and questionnaires. The results of this study include active learning models that can be applied to synchronous and asynchronous methods through activities that trigger the role of students to be more involved in learning; and student responses related to aspects in learning is quite high i.e., lecturer's effectiveness aspect was 4.01, the attitude of students was 4.04, and the availability of learning resources was 3.98. This research is expected to provide an overview for education organizers in developing active learning models at higher education level.
