Schizophrenia is classified in severe mental disorders so that the possibility to recover from it is fairly minimal. Based on a study, 80% of schizophrenic patients experienced a relapse from schizophrenia and only about 20% of patients declared recovered on pre-morbid level (Arif, 2006). Many cases of relapse occurred when the patient returned to their family. Some studies suggest that the factor of interaction patterns within the family, such as parenting and emotional expression among the members of family, leads the patients to relapse. This study aims to determine the correlation between parenting and family emotional expression to the relapse of schizophrenic patients of Menur Mental Hospital, Surabaya. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlation method. The samples were 65 families of patients with schizophrenia who were treated at the Menur Mental Hospital, taken by purposive sampling technique. 35 samples are famillies of hospitalized patients and 30 samples are famillies of outpatient. Data analysed using binary logistic. The correlation between the variables measured using significant value of p <0.05 and the Odds Ratio (OR) with 95% Constant Interval (CI). The results shows a significant value of constant is 0.002, a significant value of parenting is 0.001 and significant value of family emotional expression is 0.002. It means that there is a correlation between parenting and family emotional expression with relapse of schizophrenic patients. Family emotional expression was proven as the most variable responsible for the emergence of relapse which affect 16.9 times greater chance of relapse than other variable contribution.
Conventional learning method is viewed to be less effective because it poses the problems of space and time. Information Technology offers a method for more effective online learning called e-learning. This research aims to develop e-learning for the module of Child Development at Department of Psychology Universitas Negeri Surabaya. This study was a developmental research project that used the method of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). This model was chosen because the stages of its development are deemed appropriate especially for the refinement and implementation of e-materials in online system which facilitates the interactions among students and between the students and lecturers. The subjects of this study were 34 undergraduate psychology students who participated in the module of Child Development. This study was conducted during four meetings. The results of this study were e-material products which were uploaded in online learning system. The e-materials have been validated by experts. A questionnaire to record students’ responses on the e-materials was used. The analysis on the data resulted from students’ responses shows that there is no significant effect of the e-learning application in the module of Child Development on the students’ learning achievement. Keywords: Online learning, child development module, ADDIEAbstrak: Metode pembelajaran konvensional dirasakan menjadi kurang efektif karena terbentur masalah ruang dan waktu.
This research is aimed to test the correlation between self disclosure and trust among married people experiencing long distance relationship. This research used quantitative method with correlational research design. Participants in this research were 34 people whose spouses are in other cities or overseas with a chance of meeting is no more than once in a month. Participants were selected using snowball sampling. This research used self disclosure and trust scales to collect data and data were analysed using Rank Spearman test. The result shows that coeficient correlation (r) is 0,656 and the significance value is 0,000 (p>0,05), which means that the hypothesis of this research “there is correlation between self disclosure and trust among adult married people experiencing long distance relationship” is accepted.
