In the current era, team sports are very popular and become the centre of attention. One of the most popular sports, both internationally and domestically, is basketball. Basketball not only supports physical training, but also must support tactical training. In general, mental toughness is a general term used by most athletes, coaches, and the media to understand mental characteristics that excel in training and competition. One method to improve mental toughness in basketball athletes is match simulation. Coaches and athletes deliberately carry out simulations in different forms of challenges according to the shape, content, time, place of origin, and difficulty level in basketball practice. In this regard, what happens in Indonesia is that every athlete has a different mental toughness in the match, both the winning compilation team and the losing compilation team. Here, the match simulation becomes one of the methods that can improve the mental toughness of an athlete.
For more than 5000 years, people have used honey to improve the physical attributes of the musculoskeletal system as well as for health reasons. Honey is mainly composed of carbohydrate (CHO), minerals, and vitamins which are properties that are proved to be able to improve sports performance and general health. Honey has the potential to improve aerobic exercise performance. Meanwhile, honey in combination with exercise improves bone health, boosts the immune system, and improves performance in sports. It is believed that Carbohydrate (CHO) and honey constituents play an important role during training in providing the benefits of improving sports performance on cycling, and running. Honey is a source of carbohydrates that contain flavonoid compounds which act as antioxidants and have ergogenic properties. The natural nutrition and biochemical properties of honey make it an energy food status. Carbohydrate (CHO) make up the largest portion of honey's nutritional composition (95-99%) with the glycemic index (GI) varying from 32 to 87, in the average water content range of 13.6% to 19.2%. Other important compositions of honey include vitamins and minerals. Its composition is highly dependent on the type of flower extracted by bees, as well as regional and climatic conditions. This paper presents to elaborate the findings about the effect of honey on measured sport performance as well as the combined effect of honey and exercise on health-related outcomes. Trainers and athletes should know the positive effects of using honey and how to use it so, that the results are felt more leverage in sports performance.
Organizational stressors in sports had developed rapidly in the past decade and produced a theoretical framework that stimulated studies exploring the demands faced by athletes. Organizational stressors have the potential to cause many undesirable consequences for athletes. Organizational stressors have been defined as environmental demands that are related, especially and directly to the organization where an individual operates. In addition, social support is influenced by sports performance, regardless of the stress level. Athletes must be encouraged to be proactive in utilizing social support from people around that is important in overcoming the events experienced by them. The existence of social support can reduce or eliminate the bad consequences of events experienced, such as health and well-being of athletes. Social support can influence sports performance by advising on tactics in matches, game strategies, or by increasing the positive influence and greater influence on athletes both before and during the competition. Therefore, it is very important that psychologists better understand the demands in facing athletes through their exploration and assessment. However, although researchers have identified various organizational stressors in competitive sports and the role of social support in the competitive stress process, coaches and athletes should know how to improve the sport performance in stressful and demanding situations. The purpose of this paper is to present scientific knowledge about the role of social support as a moderator to help athletes cope with the demands and pressures imposed by organizations.
In recent years, futsal is one of the most popular sports. The injuries that are often experienced by female futsal athletes involve the lower body. This paper presents scientific knowledge about the use of Kinesio Taping in futsal athletes who have suffered injuries, both during training and competing. In this study, a systematic review is used by reviewing several related articles of Kinesio Taping. This kinesio taping is made of cotton with acrylic adhesives that are patterned like human fingerprints, so that it matches the surface of the skin with an estimated usage of Kinesio Taping is 20-35 minutes. The nature of this Kinesio Taping is elastic which is able to stretch from 30% to 40% of its basic length resulting in convolution in the surface layer of the skin, which will lift the surface of the skin so that it can accelerate blood circulation and improve lymphatic circulation. Therefore, we suggest that Trainers and athletes should know the positive effects of using Kinesio Taping and how to use it, thus the results are more leverage.
This paper is a scientific study of a review paper about fencing. The development of fencing sports, the more modern style game of fencing with a pattern of game, are fast and explosive. To support fast and effective movements, appropriate techniques and body movements are needed that can support fencing movements. The heel contact when carrying out an attack is a traditional technique, and the technique is not effective in modern fencing so far. Recently, Modern fencing uses footballs that support the player to move quickly. In addition to the effectiveness and speed of movement, this first ball footwear minimizes pressure on the foot because the movement bounces and is not charged to just one place, but it is distributed among ankle knee and hip joints. Meanwhile, the high use of heel contact can cause an excessive injury resulted in bone fatigue. This happens because the pressure received is charged at one point, the heel itself. Therefore, it has an impact on the knees and hips. This paper presents scientific knowledge about the impact of heel attack training on the occurrence of injuries in fencing. Coaches and athletes should be able to be selective in training and carrying out techniques in the correct manner to minimize the occurrence of injuries as well as to support fast and effective movements when playing fencing.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
