An examination of professional knowledge of teachers in stereochemistryOur study aims to examine some of the components of the Pedagogical Content knowledge (PCK) used by stereochemistry teachers during classes to their Terminal D students, in Benin, and deduce their subject matter knowledge in stereochemistry. We are working on eleven Beninese teachers statements' collected via audio interviews. The received results show that some interviewed teachers PCK components seem to be interacting. Even though PCK/students and PCK/strategy are PCK key components, they are necessary to highlight students' difficulties, assign them an origin and then suggest a relevant strategy to overcome the found difficulties. Interviewed teachers did not reach this necessary level of knowledge and reasoning on stereochemistry teaching in Terminal D, mainly due to narrow subject matter content knowledge.Mots-clés : stéréochimie, connaissances professionnelles des enseignants, Pedagogical Content Knowledge, connaissances du contenu disciplinaire, visualisation mentale.
