BACKGROUND Abnormality in lipid and thyroid function is commonly observed in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are the reasons to develop secondary dyslipidaemia. The aim of the study is to study the thyroid function and its correlation with the lipid parameters in patients with diabetes and hypertensive diabetics. MATERIALS AND METHODS A prospective study was done on 141 diabetic patients in the
Background: Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are accompanied (many a time ignored) by dyslipidemia; such patients are the easy targets for the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). An early treatment to normalize abnormal lipid levels can reduce the CVD and related mortality. The aim was to measure blood lipid parameters in patients with T2DM and their relation with the glycemic control. Methods: Prospective study including 124 T2DM patients in the
In the present era of supercomputing, the efficient scheduling of tasks is the first priority of the IoT and cloud service provider. Their objective is to utilize the maximum resource in order to fulfill various clients' requests. The scheduling of task on multiple processors increases change of underutilization of resources. Hence, this demand‐efficient scheduling algorithm that fulfills computer service provider's demands. This paper proposes a modified artificial bee colony algorithm for scheduling of multiple tasks on multiple processors by introducing crossover operation in employee bee phase to reduce the slow convergence rate. This proposed approach is tested on various scenarios in which there exist condition dependency among the tasks exists. The experimental results reduced the proposed approach to reduce the overall makes pan on an average by 15.37%.
BACKGROUND Poor Knowledge and practices of diabetes can lead to progression of disease related complications, which can be prevented by proper education and patient involvement. AIMS AND OBJECTIVE To evaluate knowledge, self care practices and attitude of patients towards the disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus. MATERIALS AND METHODS The present study was done at dept. of medicine, mayo institute of medical sciences, Barabanki between Oct., to Dec., 2015. The study included 100 type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients of varying duration. Patient's knowledge, their self-care practices and attitude towards the diabetes were investigated using preapproved questionnaire. RESULTS Mean age of study population was 53.84±9.49 years with 54% men and 46% women. Most of the patients (53%) had good formal education, 45% patient's had family history of diabetes whereas 48% had acceptable glycaemic control. Most of the patients in present study showed a significant knowledge related to symptoms of diabetes, symptoms of hypoglycaemia, condition leading to hypoglycaemia, life study modification whereas many had poor knowledge regarding normal fasting level, insulin therapy, the proper way of mixing, right time to take insulin injection, diet plan, diet during infection, compromised immunity in diabetes and regular exercise program. Most of the patients were following good diabetes practice and 75% had positive attitude towards the disease. CONCLUSION The present study had showed that patients who regularly followed self-care practices and had sound knowledge regarding the disease, achieved better glycaemic control.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
