Variability of MMP/TIMP expressions from case to case makes it difficult to evaluate their impact on clinical outcome. However, these proteins might be new and promising targets for prostate cancer therapy in the future.

Infertility is not appreciably increased among BS patients attending a dedicated outpatient clinic. Major organ involvement does not increase the risk of infertility and CYC is the only drug that seems to compromise fertility in BS.
