Ceruminous gland adenoma of a 10-year-old male neutered Doberman dog is described in this study. Small nodular growth was noticed on clinical examination which was partially obstructing the lumen of the external ear canal. The tumorous mass was surgically excised and processed for histopathological examination. Microscopically, the tumorous mass revealed cystic alterations and glandular epithelial growth with a polypoid pattern. The glandular cuboidal cells lining the cyst were either pile up or attenuated and supported by a stroma. The glandular tubule lumen was filled with pale eosinophilic material along with a, degenerated neutrophils, necrotic debris, few sloughed-off epithelial cells and brown pigment laden macrophages.
Hernia is a very common surgical problem. Drain site hernias are very rare (0.1-3.4 %) incidence quoted in literature. We report the case of a 40year old male who presented with a swelling in the right lower abdomen. CT scan revealed herniation of small bowel with interstitial spread through a former drain site placed after a previous laparotomy 10 years back.
Wandering spleen is the absence of spleen at its normal left upper quadrant position. It may be because of increased splenic mobility resulting from laxity or maldevelopment of the suspensary gastrosplenic, splenorenal, and phrenicocolic ligaments. Wandering spleen is prone for complications like trauma and torsion. Torsion is quite rare complication. Diagnosis of wandering spleen is quite difficult because of the lack of symptoms and signs until splenic torsion have occurred. Here we report an interesting case of a 16-year-old unmarried girl presenting with acute abdomen, diagnosed with wandering spleen torsion and managed surgically.
Cystic lymphangiomas are congenital lymphatic malformations that most commonly develop in the neck, axilla, mediastinum and retroperitoneum. They occur usually in children but occasionally in adults. The scrotum is a very rare site for this tumor and only few cases have been reported in the literature. We report the case of a scrotal lymphangioma in a 24-year-old male patient who developed painless scrotal swelling. Typical sonography and MRI findings are shown. Surgical excision and histopathology confirmed the diagnosis.
We present a case report of an unusual large foreign body in Rectum. Our patient presented with signs of intestinal obstruction following insertion of plastic oil bottle in the rectum for breaking fecal impaction. Patient was then evaluated and transanal retrieval of foreign body was carried out successfully.
