Regional Forestry Office of Lampung Province has declared Sumber Agung Village as a Durian Tourism Village. In order to encourage the durian tourism village as a center of durian marketing, it is necessary to conduct a research which aim to know the efficiency of durian marketing to support the durian tourism village. The analysis used in this study were including the analysis of marketing channels, market structure, market behavior and marketing margin. The research showed that there were 4 durian marketing channels in Sumber Agung Village and the most efficient channel was from farmer through retailer and to final consumer. According to the market structure, market behavior and uneven margin distribution, the durian marketing has not been efficient and tends to be oligopsony. Spirogyra peipingensis algae is a microscopic green algae which is one of an alternative raw material to producing bioethanol because it has a high carbohydrate about 64%. This study aims to discover the growth of various types of yeast in S. peipingensis algae medium in producing bioethanol. This study uses hydrolysis methods and fermentation methods. In this study, the hydrolysis method using α-amylase enzyme as much as 150 KNU/L. The type of yeast used was Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Pichia kudriavzevii and Kluyveromyces thermotolerans. The result shown that the optimal yeast growth in producing ethanol is S. cerevsisiae was 0,49 g ethanol/g sugar at 10 hours fermentation duration. Based in the result shown that S. peipingensis algae can be used as raw material for producing bioethanol by using Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Pengembangan Usaha Mikro dan Kecil (UMK) di Indonesia merupakan salah satu prioritas dalam pembangunan ekonomi nasional. Hal ini selain karena usaha tersebut merupakan tulang punggung system ekonomi kerakyatan yang tidak hanya ditujukan untuk mengurangi masalah kesenjangan antar golongan pendapatan dan antar pelaku usaha, ataupun pengentasan kemiskinan dan penyerapan tenaga kerja. Lebih dari itu, pengembangannya mampumemperluas basis ekonomi dan dapat memberikan konstribusi yang signifikan dalam mempercepat perubahan struktural, yaitu meningkatnya perekonomian daerah dan ketahanan ekonomi nasional (Munizu, 2010).
The service learning program is one of the partnership activities to contribute significantly to the university’s role for the community, industry, local government and community groups who want to be economically and socially independent. This program offers a solution to solve problems by conducting partnership activities between institutions, local government and the community. One of the solutions from the low productivity of farmers from rainfed lowland agriculture and poultry husbandry is to increase farmers’ knowledge and skills through the application of science and technology both in the production stage and post-harvest processing. Therefore, the concept of “petik, olah, jual” (harvest, process, sell) can be implemented well. The paper described the implementation of service learning conducted by students of Universitas Hasanuddin in one of poor villages in Sidrap Regency. With the implementation of science and technology, the goal of community empowerment in the context of poverty alleviation through local resource management is expected to be achieved.
Talas dikenal mengandung mucilage yang memiliki sifat mirip dengan asam hialuronat penyusun gelatin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu dan waktu ekstraksi mucilage talas terhadap sifat asam hialuronat yang dihasilkan. Pada penelitian ini asam hialuronat diisolasi dengan menggunakan air destilata pada suhu 70 dan 90oC selama 30 dan 60 menit dan dikoagulasikan menggunakan alkohol sebanyak 1:1, kemudian endapan dikering-anginkan pada suhu ruang selama 12 jam dan dilanjutkan dengan waterbath shaker pada suhu 40°C selama 30 menit. Asam hialuronat kering kemudian dihaluskan dan diayak 80 mesh, dianalisis sifat fitokimia, fisikokimia, dan sensorinya. Asam hialuronat talas dari semua perlakuan positif mengandung karbohidrat, protein, glikosida dan gula pereduksi, tetapi tidak mengandung alkaloid dan flavonoid. Hasil uji fisikokimia menunjukkan bahwa suhu dan waktu tidak berpengaruh terhadap bulk density, tap density, dan kadar abu, tetapi berpengaruh terhadap kadar air, residu alkohol, dan pH. Asam hialuronat tidak larut dalam alkohol tetapi larut dalam air panas mulai 40°C.
