This paper is dedicated to the reservoir management and the recovery drive of oil rims – depletion, barrier water flooding and gas reinjection. First, the review of world experience in development of oil rims was carried out; the performance results of different drive regimes are described. Main dimensionless criteria that influence on the character of filtration flows in tilted oil rim were formulated. These criteria take into account gravity factor, anisotropy factor, geometrical configuration of reserves of oil and gas. The methodology of choosing the best recovery drive was presented. It resides in varying key dimensionless parameters with finding the optimal well position and individual well controls at the same time. The criterion of efficiency is discounted oil recovery due to the same number of wells in all variations. Two-dimendional, three-phase, black oil simulator was used to get the "i-chart" that points out the best recovery drive and the best well control. Such graph will help to perform snap-analysis of development of oil rims what will be especially actual for greenfields when designing concepts of systems of development.
In this article the horizontal wells productivity analysis has been hold in respect of edge-typed oil rims developed with depletion recovery drive with gas breakthrough. There are several methods that may help to calculate producion rate of the wells in underlayng oil rims without gas breakthrough (so called critical rate). These methods were obtained due to the relatively simple well drainage area. Considering the of edge-typed oil rim geometry with different saturation zones we get much more complicated boundary conditions and the numerical solution is needed. Main criteria that influence on the character of filtration flows in underlaynig and edge-typed oil rim were formulated. Various simulation runs on 2D "X-Z" model were perfomed to investigate coining peculiarities especially different coning regimes and it’s influence on the oil production rate. Main results of the work are the corrleations between dimensionless oil rate and geometrical parameters of edge-typed oil rim that also may help to calculate economical efficiency of the oil rim development.
The purpose of the work is to present the experience of PJSC "Gazpromneft" in the oil rims development and formed on its basis the strategy of involving in the economically viable development of this type of hydrocarbon reserves. The paper considers various approaches, such as depletion, injection of gas and water into the oil rim, back injection into the gas cap of produced associated petroleum gas from the rim, simultaneous production of oil and gas, etc. Practical examples are given in management and technological decisions in solving various problems in the development of oil rims in order to maximize the economic efficiency of projects and the main recommendations are formed. The conclusions are that one of the key drivers of the success of the development of oil rims is an integrated approach to development management. It is concluded that the successful development of such deposits is possible under the condition of monetization of all hydrocarbon products. The paper notes that, given the significant volume of construction, technological risks and long-term projects, successful implementation of projects for the development of oil rims requires a clear, long-term and stable state tax policy for companies engaged in the development of the resource base of such hydrocarbon reserves.
