Background:The influence of kettlebell lifting training on the development of cadets' power qualities during studies at Ukrainian higher military educational institutions is examined in the article. Also, a comparative analysis of the development of cadets' power qualities depending on their sports qualification in kettlebell lifting is conducted. Material and methods:The investigation of the development of cadets' power qualities was conducted according to the following tests: bar pull-ups, bar pullover, bar muscle up, parallel bars dips, complex power exercise, L-sit on parallel bars, holding the body in a horizontal position, back squat, bench press and barbell deadlift. Results:A reliably better level of the development of power qualities of cadets who were involved in kettlebell lifting training during studies was found in comparison with cadets who were involved in the current system of physical training, which proves the efficiency of kettlebell lifting exercises concerning the formation of graduates' physical preparation for professional activity. Conclusions:The research shows a necessity to implement kettlebell lifting to the physical training of cadets who are the future Ukrainian Armed Forces' officers in order to ensure high efficiency of their future professional activity.
The authors work within the framework of political sociology using interdisciplinary methodology. The article presents the results of a sociological analysis of the functions of group nominations in the electoral struggle in divided societies. The empirical basis of the article is the author's study of the electoral discourse based on the material of the parliamentary elections in Ukraine in 2019, carried out within the framework of the ARDU international research project, as well as a mass poll conducted within the framework of the same project. The authors investigate the electoral struggle as a factor and s reflection of macrosocial processes, relying on a combined theoretical and methodological foundation: the sociology of cleavages, social constructivism, and critical discourse analysis. The results of the analysis of the pre-election discourse and a mass survey of the adult population of Ukraine show the relationship between discursive group nominations and objective social cleavages. The division of society into conflict groups is used as a discursive tool for segmentation of the electoral audience, as well as for the consolidation and deepening of existing social divisions. Authors conclude that there is the interrelation between discursive group nominations and objective social cleavages. Group nominations (re) produce a macrosocial split of a complex, regional and ideological nature, which receives a technological dimension in the electoral discourse.
Groups with special qualities in the eyes of the public can help to overcome barriers to vaccination and other anti-pandemic measures. Such groups can be opinion leaders to advance the pandemic response. One of these groups is specialized doctors. A research question: how ready are they today to act as a group opinion leader in promoting vaccinations and other responses to the pandemic? We present original data that allow us to draw the local (national) characteristics of attitudes towards measures to coping the pandemic of medical workers in Ukraine, and about their potential as an agent for informational promotion of vaccination. We used a questionnaire survey of medical workers (797 medical workers were interviewed in March-September 2021) in the Kharkiv region to collect empirical material. We focused on their assessment of the readiness to vaccinate their environment – as an indirect indicator of assessing the prospects for mass vaccination and their own ability to act as agents of promoting mass vaccination. According to the results of the survey, the social group potential of medical workers in promoting vaccination is relatively high. About half of doctors with higher education, who are included in the pandemic topics of the information space and are confident in the need for mass vaccination, can be the agent core of the information promotion of anti-pandemic tools, particularly vaccination.
