Medicines constitute a key factor in all health care delivery systems and are now said to contribute highly towards many households' recurrent expenditure. As access to medicines increase, bulks of medicines become unused and are kept at home. This has resulted into accumulation of unused medicines at home mainly due to lack of adequate knowledge on procedures for their safe disposal -which potentially can expose households to risks related to diversion, accidental overdose and use by children. An understanding of people's knowledge and perceptions on their disposal patterns therefore becomes fundamental in tackling this issue. It is against this backdrop that this study intended not only to bridge the knowledge gap in this discipline, but also to explore households' perceptions and practices of disposal patterns of unused medicines in Nairobi City -the capital of Kenya. The study found out that household's knowledge on disposal practices of unused medicines is relatively weak attributed to by lack of public outreach and awareness campaigns, laxity on the side of medical and healthcare professionals to provide disposal guidance at hospitals and pharmacies, unclear disposal instructions on medicines packages and negligence to read the disposal instructions.
Archaeoacoustic and Electromagnetic research of ancient sites is becoming an established discipline. SB Research Group (SBRG) have been developing a new methodology over the last five years using a practical archaeoacoustic standard (SBSA), which helps to explain certain phenomena which are commonly found at "sacred sites". Applying this expertise enabled better understanding of the specific EM and acoustic wave emissions present on Kanda Hill, Macedonia. Analyzing these emissions enables better understanding of what lies below the surface. The previous research paper (ARSA 2014) demonstrated evidence of various physical phenomena present at this ancient site and the artificial origin of this hill, which should now be reffered to as a tumulus. At the time of writing the presence of interior cavities in was suspected, possibly consisting of small number of chambers and passageways. This hypothesis is corroborated by the evidence presented in this paper. Keywords-archaeoacoustics, geoglyph, EM waves I. (*) Note. SB Research Group (SBRG) is an international interdisciplinary project, the team of researchers from (Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, England and Finland) research the anthropology and archaeoacoustics of ancient sites and temples throughout Europe (www.sbresearchgoup.eu).
Cetvrti
This paper extends our previous research of an artificial mound in Kanda (Macedonia) from an archaeoastronomical point of view. In two previous papers, SB Research Group explained its archaeoacoustic research and established the existence of several cavities, likely burial chambers, inside the mound. This mound is essentially a massive earthwork, which, on its top contains two concentric -approximately oval frames and a large geoglyph in the center which resembles the mirror image of the Constellation of Cassiopeia. Through analyzing the symbolism of the Macedonian royal dynasty and through dating by the method of the precession of equinoxes, we established that the geoglyph is precisely pointing to Alexander's birthday in the calendar. The precise alignment of the rising Sun, Cassiopeia and geoglyph on Alexander's birthday in 356 B.C. suggests that geoglyph contains something related to him, possibly his tomb or the tomb of a close relative.
BACKGROUND: Systemic Constellations Work (SCW) is a non-conventional method of dealing with organizational development and change that has been gaining popularity since the 1990s. OBJECTIVE: The goal of this study was to understand how kinesthetic and spatial sensations gained through SCW translate into knowledge with a particular focus on the longer-term organizational effects. METHODS: We performed semi-structured interviews and used triangulation of sources (constellator and clients) and methods (inductive, deductive coding and ethnographic approach). RESULTS: The study identified a phase model of SCW process revolving around organizational trauma enmeshed in the context of personal, organizational and social systemic fields. CONCLUSIONS: The results imply that SCW is a valid method of trauma healing and prevention.
