The production of materials improves students' grades and can increase their enthusiasm in reading short stories.
The purpose of this essay is to evaluate how well students are performing on their own in blended learning in language courses at institutions, STKIP Al Maksum with the ultimate objective of finding obstacles and opportunities for self-directed study. 100 students from the Department of English, STKIP Al Maksum will be surveyed online in October 2022 as part of this study. Several significant conclusions can be derived from the findings. The socioeconomic and demographic backgrounds of English Department faculty members influence students' abilities to self-organize and effectively use technology to study a second language. Students completing independent work in blended learning of foreign languages at the English Department face the following challenges: technical and the need for support from a technical specialist; the inconvenient nature of a blended learning system; the requirement for additional technical skills; the complexity of blended learning. It has also been determined, on average, how effective the blended learning system and technology make the learning process.
This study focuses on the speech act in the novel Tanah Surga Merah written by Arafat Nur. The researcher uses Searle's speech act theory in John R. (1985). The speech act theory consists of declarations, representatives, expressive, directives and comissives. This study aimed to find out the kinds of speech act and to reveal the kinds of speech act expressed by the first character. This research is library research proposed by Khotari (2004). The design of the research is descriptive qualitative research. The aim of descriptive qualitative research is to clarify the nature of a phenomenon in a specified, static context while viewed from a specific, fixed perspective [8].The data are the utterances in the novel. The source of the data is the novel Tanah Surga Merah written by Arafat Nur. The research findings show that, declaratives are used for 14.28%, representatives 21.42%, expressive 28.57%, directives 21.42% and commisives 14.28%. Based on the findings, the expressives are the dominant form of speech acts in the novel.
As the mother of knowledge, philosophy of science plays a crucial role in the development of science, particularly language education, which is a subfield of science. This study's objective is to examine language instruction in terms of three facets of the philosophy of science: anthology, epistemology, and axiology. The research approach employs a systematic literature review (SLR) to identify research publications pertinent to the research questions and objectives. Following the screening phase, five research articles that are pertinent to the research questions and objectives enter the analysis and study outcomes phases. According to the study's findings, the ontology component of education stresses the objectives of language instruction, which include core competencies, basic competencies, attitudes, knowledge, and abilities. The epistemological part focuses on language-teaching techniques that prioritize student needs. The axiological part of language learning focuses more on practical values, allowing pupils to effectively communicate following language acquisition. To ensure the continued survival of language education as a science, it is imperative that the development of language education adhere to the ontology, epistemology, and axiology characteristics that are central to the philosophy of science.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
