Theoretical sound absorption coefficient and profile of micro-perforated single-, double-, and triple-layer systems with varying panel parameters were calculated by using the lumped and the distributed models for acoustic impedances. The sound absorption levels and profiles predicted by using the distributed model with Maa's acoustic impedance showed a close agreement for all panel systems with those obtained experimentally by using impedance-tube and reverberation-room tests.
Fashion image analysis has attracted significant research attention owing to the availability of large-scale fashion datasets with rich annotations. However, existing deep learning models for fashion datasets often have high computational requirements. In this study, we propose a new model suitable for low-power devices. The proposed network is a one-stage detector that rapidly detects multiple cloths and landmarks in fashion images. The network is designed as a modification of the EfficientDet originally proposed by Google Brain. The proposed network simultaneously trains the core input features with different resolutions and applies compound scaling to the backbone feature network. The bounding box/class/landmark prediction networks maintain the balance between the speed and accuracy. Moreover, a low number of parameters and low computational cost make it efficient. Without image preprocessing, we achieved 0.686 mean average precision (mAP) in the bounding box detection and 0.450 mAP in the landmark estimation on the DeepFashion2 validation dataset with an inference time of 42 ms. We obtained optimal results in extensive experiments with loss functions and optimizers. Furthermore, the proposed method has the advantage of operating in low-power devices.
Aggressive fibromatosis is a rare benign soft tissue tumor that is difficult to cure because of its infiltrative nature and high tendency to recur locally. The authors retrospectively analyzed 20 patients with histologically-confirmed fibromatosis. All patients underwent surgery with a wide or marginal margin. Five (25%) cases with histologically-negative margins had recurred. External beam radiotherapy was administered to patients whose margins were positive or who had local recurrence. However, out of concern for safety, radiotherapy was not given to two babies and a reproductive-aged woman. The average dose was 5,020 cGy. During the follow-up (mean 32.6 months), all the patients undergoing radiotherapy showed no evidence of local recurrence. A wide local excision has traditionally been the treatment of choice. However, postoperative radiotherapy could be an effective measure for preventing local recurrence in patients with a histologically-positive surgical margin and recurrence independent of any signs of relapse.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
