My business" -experimental performance about love, being a couple and pregnancy of people with Down Syndrome. The artistic work of theatre company of adults with intellectual disabilities as the right to (co-creating) culture -a sketchThe presented text aims to show how the experience of love, being a couple, pregnancy is performed in the artistic work of theatre company of adult people with intellectual disabilities. Particularly I concentrate on the theatre company BRO which conducted a kind of priming experimental performance entitled "My business". The experimental nature of the performance means it was conducted in collaboration with professional script writer, scene artist, music composer and most especially professional actors, who perform on stage together with actors with Down Syndrome/intellectual disabilities. The text is focused on the performance "My business" and attempts to show how art -performances of theatre companies of people with intellectual disabilities -creates a space in which they could show how they see love, relationships between women and men, parenthood/pregnancy and how they function and ?nd themselves in a social context. Theoretical inspiration for the discussion is theory of dialogue and carnivalization by M. Bakhtin. Art and performances serve as a perfect tool to change meanings ascribed to people with intellectual disabilities: either to their needs and ability to love, being a couple, experience of parenthood or to their creative output that could be negotiated and altered. They also convince that people with intellectual disabilities not only have the right to (access, participate and create) culture but simply are a part of it.Keywords: adults with intellectual disabilities, love, being a couple, sexual needs, pregnancy, art/ performances/ theatre companies "Moja sprawa" eksperymentalny spektakl o mi³ooeci, byciu par¹ i ci¹¿y osób z zespo³em Downa. Festiwal Akcept w kontekoecie karnawa³u M. Bachtina. Rzecz o doros³ych z niepe³nosprawnooeci¹ intelektualn¹ w lokalnych inicjatywach kulturalno-edukacyjnych Akcept Festival in the context of M. Bakhtin's carnival. On adults with intellectual disabilities in the local cultural and educational initiativesIn the text the author presents Akcept Festival and Open Space Technology dabate in the context of Bakhtinian carnival. Akcept Festival as a local cultural and educational initiative appears an interesting and important artistic event which -according to Bakhtinian carnival -makes ordinary life and its rules and regulations temporarily suspended and reversed, which eventually extracts all individuals -either with intellectual disabilities or without disabilities from noncarnival life. Carnival transforms the world making it upside down and violates all former ideologies, hierarchical positions, social roles and relations. Bakhtinian carnival affects people into collaboration and dialogue. Particularly it empowers people with intellectual disabilities (voice) to perform in the space of dialogical immanence, expressing their own individual meanings and senses. Carnival makes voices of people with intellectual disabilities and without disabilities interact and flourish that results in a genuine dialogue between them.S³owa kluczowe: dorooeli z niepe³nooeci¹ intelektualn¹, inicjatywy kulturalne i edukacyjne, upe³nomocnienie g³osu, wspó³praca i dialog, koncepcja karnawa³u M. The idea of the course was devoted to: The Other in education and education to the Other: philosophical and socio-cultural aspects of education in diversity and mainly concentrated on the category of difference and the phenomenon of Other/otherness, which, among other, were exemplified by the phenomenon of intellectual disability. Theoretical context of a qualitative research with application of phenomenography were philosophical concepts of B. Waldenfels and H.G. Gadamer. The results of the research study show what meanings construct the ways of understanding and interpreting the phenomenon of Other/otherness and the category of difference in the research group.
