Pulp diseases commonly happens because of the actions of bacteriological factors and show their characteristic signs and symptoms over the time. With pulp necrosis, a degenerative process starts and when there is no early treatment, it is possible to occur periapical lesions as a result of aggression to the pulp. In cases of periapical secondary lesions, clinical signs and symptoms persist and are related to secondary infection due to persistent bacterial contamination, also to operative factors, inadequate obturation or poor coronary restoration. This study aimed to report a case of endodontic retreatment and clinical and radiographic follow-up for 8 years, of chronic periapical abscess case, in which after retreatment, clinical signs and symptoms are no longer observed and bone neoformation is noticed. A importância da prática odontológica segura diante da Covid-19: uma revisão da literatura The importance of safe dental practice in the face of Covid-19: a literature review
A principal desvantagem relatada ainda é o alto custo do equipamento. ABSTRACT CAD/CAM Systems emerge as one of the greatest innovations in contemporary dentistry. Through digitalization, the virtual planning and the manufacture of prosthetic parts, the simplification and optimization of the rehabilitator treatment occurred. The aim of this study is to approach the technique of CAD/CAM use, its main characteristics, advantages and disadvantages when used in dental prosthesis. A literature review was conducted through the search for studies attached in the databases: Bireme and Pubmed, published between 2003 and 2018 years. Among the advantages of using CAD/CAM systems, we can highlight the best reproducibility and accuracy, shorter manufacturing time, besides the possibility of using more resistant ceramics and making restorations with this material. The main disadvantage reported is still the high cost of the equipment. CAD/CAM technology in order to automate and streamline the process of making prostheses, being able to produce high quality parts with a huge variety of materials. Nevertheless, the technique should be adjusted based on the needs of the materials to be used and the preferences of the dentist and technician in dental prosthesis.
ABSTRACT The objective of this work is to report a case of endodontic treatment by acute symptomatic pulpitis of the first left lower molar where at the time of instrumentation there was a rotational file separation of the Protaper Universal (PU) system. A 40-year-old patient attended our dental clinic complaining of intense, pulsatile pain, and that after thermal testing it took a few minutes to relieve. The diagnosis was acute symptomatic pulpitis, opting for endodontic treatment. During mechanical preparation there was separation of file S2 (PT) in the middle third of the Mésio-lingual channel, being used ultrasound for its removal. After the proposed treatment, clinical symptoms may be reported missing.
Prof. Dr. Arnoldo Vasconcelos de Alencar FilhoPresidente do 1º ELA UNINASSAU - 1º Encontro das Ligas Acadêmicas de Odontologia UNINASSAU
