In this study, the ages of 76 individuals belonging to the Cyprinion macrostomus (Heckel, 1843) population caught from Murat River near Bing˛l city were determined from six di¡erent bony structures and the level of calcium mineral of each bony structure was measured using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The determined element was statistically examined according to the age, length, weight and sex of the ¢sh. The age, length and weight ranges of the ¢sh were found to be 2^6, 12.0^21.2 mm and 16.3^135.3 g respectively. The relationships between the accumulation of calcium in all bony structures and the ¢sh size (both length and weight) were found to be insigni¢cant (P40.05). However, a strong relationship was found between ¢sh weight and accumulation of the mineral in vertebra and otolith. A strong correlation was also found between ¢sh length and accumulation of calcium in the dorsal ¢n ray, followed by the otolith, vertebra and cleithrum bones respectively. Whereas the accumulation of calcium according to the age groups was found to be insignificant for scale and operculum (P40.05), it was found to be signi¢cant for all the other bony structures examined (Po0.05). In conclusion, the accumulation of calcium on some bony structures of C. macrostomus was observed to increase with an increase in age, length and weight of ¢sh, although the increases were not statistically signi¢cant at least for some bony structures (P40.05).
This study was carried out in Luciobarbus esocinus obtained from Keban Reservoir (Elazığ) between March 2008 and October 2009. During the research, it was determined that the percentage of male, female and undefined individuals from 187 L. esocinus were 45.455%, 37.433% and 17.112% respectively. The ages of population were distributed between I and XVII. The lengths of the individuals ranged from 23.0 to 112.4 cm and the weight of them ranged from 118 to 18042 g. The length and weight equation for population was determined as W all individuals = 0.0057TL 3.2187 (n= 187, r= 0.98). The highest GSI values of both sexed were obtained in March and these values were decreased rapidly after this month. It was determined that the condition factor increased until age 5 and then, it decreased respectively. 3,2187 olarak saptanmıĢtır (n= 187, r = 0,98). A few deep fat fried products of Indian taste were either prepared in the laboratory in heat‐abused groundnut oil or collected from commercial establishments along with corresponding frying oils. Quality of lipid extracted from different products or that of frying oils was assessed through different determinations. The study indicates that the quality of the lipid or the fat of a deep fat fried product is governed by the quality of its frying oil; however, both are not same. The study brings out the significance of moisture content of a product in determining the quality of lipid picked up by it from frying oil. When the moisture content of a product is high (45% or more), the quality of its lipid is inferior to that of its frying oil. When the moisture content is low (10% or less), the reverse is the situation. Difference between total lipid and crude fat of a product calculated on moisture free basis is found to be more pronounced in case of products having high moisture contents compared to those having low moisture contents. Products with low moisture content have relatively higher percentage and those with high moisture content, have lower percentage of „bound”︁ lipid.
K=0.06, t0=-1.48, W∞=19746.57 and natural mortality (M) is determined as 0.1671. The highest average Gonadosomatic index values were determined in April for both sexes. Egg diameter values were measured between 0.60-1.33 mm, and the highest average value was found in April (1.27 mm). Reproduction period was determined between April-July. Fecundity values was calculated between 13468-885762. The first maturation was determined to be in age group III (30.848 cm in total length) for males and in age group IV (32.099 cm in total length) for females.
