Listening plays a vital role in daily lives. Everyday people listen for different purposes such as entertainmnet, academic purposes or obtaining necessary information. It is essential for learning languages since they enable to acquire insights and information, and to achieve success in communicating with others. But many students fail to seize them because of some learning difficulties in listening class. Teachers should be aware of students’ learning difficulties. Understanding students’ learning difficulties may enable EFL teachers to help students develop effective learning strategies and ultimately improve their English listening abilities. This paper focuses on how teachers enhance their positive attitude; trainthem to be responsive by giving the suitable strategies that will enable them to develop their listening skills.
The objective of this study was to find out the implementation of audio-visual media to improve students’ motivation in speaking English. The writer has conducted a Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this study were 31 students who belong to the XI IPA 1 class. This study used classroom action research in three cycles; the planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The score of speaking from cycle to cycle improved, the first students’ speaking performance result was the second result was, and the third was. Based on those score (from 1st cycle to 3rd cycle), showed how the implementation of audio-visual media that could be improved students’ motivation to speak English.
The objective of this study was to find out the influence of MEA learning model on students’ grammar learning achievements. The participants were the third semester students of English study program, UM Palembang in academic year 2019/2020 which amounted to 40 students. This study was a quantitative research. This study used pre-experimental method. The research design used two groups pretest post-test design. The researcher conducted several steps to analyze the data; first, data from pre- and post-test results were analyzed to find averages obtained from the control and experimental group. Second, the data obtained by the control and experimental group were compared statistically to determine differences in grammar test scores between the two groups using paired sample tests. Third, the data obtained from the second step were compared statistically to find the significant differences in the grammar values between the two groups by using paired sample t-tests. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the experimental group before the treatment was carried out in the learning process based on the pretest value was still not good, but when the treatment has been carried out, the student post-test results showed a very good improvement. For the control group, there were no favorable changes (significant) between the pre- and post-test result scores, because both of them showed the same results, which were not good.
Ibu rumah tangga yang banyak beraktivitas dalam rumah tangga banyak menghasilkan sampah domestik (rumah tangga) setiap harinya, baik yang berupa sampah organik maupun anorganik. Peran serta ibu rumah tangga dalam mengelola sampah rumah tangga, terutama sampah organik, akan sangat bermanfaat bagi lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini ditujukan kepada ibu-ibu rumah tangga dalam memanfaatkan sampah organik menjadi pupuk cair yang bernilai ekonomi untuk membantu kegemaran atau hobi ibu-ibu rumah tangga memeliharan tanaman di rumah agar menjadi subur tanpa mengeluarkan biaya tambahan serta memberikan info cara membuat minuman sehat yang berasal dari rempah-rempah yang ada di dapur, yang berguna untuk menjaga stamina tubuh dimasa pademi ini dengan memanfaatan waktu luang di rumah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara mengolah sampah organik menjadi pupuk cair, bagaimana cara membuat minuman sehat dari pinang dan bawang putih, dan bagaimana cara menbuat minuman sehat dari jahe dan gula merah. Dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai tata cara pengolahan limbah rumah tangga dan rempah-rempah meningkat. (2) Kesadaran dan keinginan masyarakat untuk berpartisipasi dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang sehat serta menjaga kebugaran tubuh di masa pademi ini mengalami peningkatan. Mengingat besarnya manfaat kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini, maka selanjutnya perlu: (1) Mengadakan sosialisasi dan penyuluhan serupa pada masyarakat di Kecamatan lain, dengan materi yang sama. (2) Adanya kesinambungan program pasca kegiatan pengabdian ini sehingga masyarakat benar-benar memahami dan menyadari betapa pentingnya pengolahan limbah rumah tangga dan rempah-rempah, dalam upaya menciptakan lingkungan yang sehat serta peningkatan kesehatan dalam masyarakat.
