The main types of tests carried out in determining the characteristics of the structure of fibers, threads, webs, their mechanical and physical properties are considered. The laboratory workshop is designed to assist students in self-preparation for performing, conducting laboratory work on textile materials science and preparing reports on them, as well as in choosing research areas that can be performed within the framework of a particular laboratory work. The construction and content of the laboratory workshop meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation, the standard program of studying the course "Textile Materials Science" in higher educational institutions of the textile profile.
