The time and wavelength dependencies of luminescence resulted from 11 low-lying Cd II levels in He-Cd medium excited by 252 Cf fission fragments have been measured in the temperature range from 553 to 669 K and various buffer gas pressures (1.5-5 atm). The method used is based upon applying multichannel coincidence technique and single-photon spectrometry. The lifetime, pumping rate, and luminescence spectral line width data obtained for 325-and 441.6-nm transitions have been used to estimate lasing characteristics of He-Cd medium under optimal conditions.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
