This paper presents a low power voltage limiter design that avoids possible damages in the circuits of the analog front-end of the RFID sensor due to voltage surges whenever reader and tag are very close. The proposed voltage limiter design takes advantage of the implemented bandgap reference and voltage regulator in order to provide low temperature and process deviation of the limiting voltage. The measured limiting voltage is 2.9V with a voltage variation of only +/-O.025V for the four measured dies. The current consumption is only 150nA when the reader and the tag are far away one to each other, not limiting the sensitivity of the tag due to an undesired consumption in the voltage limiter. The circuit is implemented on a low cost 2P4M O.35m CMOS technology. I.
Abstract. The ageing of European population is now requiring novel solutions that help the healthcare systems face the new challenges. Novel monitoring solutions, combining state-of-the-art technologies will take a main role in the new healthcare models. In the present paper a prototype of an implemented non-invasive, wearable sensor platform for Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) patients is shown and described. The platform monitors all the required parameters from sensors, collects and processes the data in a mobile platform and sends the data to a server.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
