This paper deals with the problem of the control of thrust generated by conventional bladed propeller of marine thrusters and moved by an electric motor. This paper described a control law based on the estimation of the thrust using two features: an Extended Kalman Filter to observe the torque and an reversed hydrodynamic model of the propeller to control the thrust by a Proportional-Integral controller. The performances and robustness of this control law is compared to a PI controller without estimator and to the Model-Based-Velocity control.
This paper deals with the use of an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) for the temperature observation of an induction starter generator. At first, we remind considerations about temperature supervision. Then we present a classical method based on a parameter observer. Problems encountered with such an observer are presented in the framework of our application. To overcome these problems we propose a second observer extended to temperature variation using a priori knowledge on parameters evolution model. Experimental results are presented and commented in the last section.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
