The paper analyzes the adaptive abilities of black currant cultivars of plants for the assimilation of nickel from highly cultivated sod-podzolic soils containing 10.7-14.1 mg / kg of fluent nickel. Plantings were monitored at experimental plantings of ARHIBAN (Moscow region) on 9 black currant cultivars: Oryol Serenade, Belarusskaja sladkaja, Zagadka, Vologda, Triton, Biryulevskaya, Titania, Orlowsky waltz, Exotica. The agrochemical properties of the soil, the content of fluent nickel in the soil, and its content in the fruits of black currant plants were determined. Based on the analysis, the coefficients of nickel assimilation by black currant plants were calculated and statistical dependencies of its accumulation indicators on agrochemical properties of sod-podzolic soils at different depths of the root layer were determined. According to the results of research, regression dependences of the accumulation of nickel in black currant fruits on the indicators of the agrochemical properties of the soil and the content in the soil of fluent nickel were constructed. It was established that the nickel content in black currant fruits primarily depended on the acidity of the soil, on the content in the soil of fluent nickel, alkaline hydrolysable nitrogen and fluent potassium. Black currant cultivars Belarusskaja sladkaja, Vologda, Triton, Biryulevskaya, Titania were more resistant to soil pollution with nickel.
The article studies the regularities of cadmium (Cd) accumulation by red currant (Ribes rubrum L.) plant varieties grown on soddy-podzolic soils adjacent to the metropolis of Moscow, containing 0.26-1.02 mg/kg of mobile Cd. The researches were carried out in collection plantations of the Federal Horticultural Research Center for Breeding, Agrotechnology and Nursery (Moscow region), including varieties of different ecological and geographical origin: 9 red (Valentinovka, Viksne, Gazelle, Konstantinovskaya, Nadezhda, Niva, Rachnovskaya, Serpantin, Jonkheer Van Tets), 2 pink (Gollandskaya Rozovaya, Lydia) and 2 white (Belaya Feya, Blanca) currant varieties. The agrochemical properties of soils, the content of mobile Cd in the soil, and its content in the fruits and leaves of plants were determined. It has been established that when grown on cultivated soddy-podzolic loamy soil with a mobile Cd content of 0.26-1.02 mg/kg in the root layers of the soil, red currant varieties Belaya Feya, Blanca, Valentinovka, Viksne, Gazelle, Konstantinovskaya, Lydia, Rachnovskaya, Serpantin, Jonkheer Van Tets are more resistant to soil contamination with Cd compared to varieties Gollandskaya Rozovaya, Nadezhda, Niva. At the same time, the content of Cd in the leaves of red currant, depending on the variety, is 2-3 times higher than its content in fruits. The regression models indicated a closer dependence on the parametrs of the agrochemical properties of the soil and the Cd content in it of the values of Cd accumulation in fruits than in leaves. The assimilation of Cd by the fruits of red currant plants when cultivated on cultivated soddy-podzolic soils with a mobile Cd content of 0.26-1.02 mg/kg depended on the varietal barrier properties of plants, the content of mobile Cd in it, and also on the mobility of Cd, which depends, in first of all, from the acidity and availability of the soil with alkaline hydrolysable nitrogen.
We report a study of 23 redcurrant cultivars of different genetic and geographical origin from the All-Russian Horticultural Institute for Breeding, Agrotechnology and Nursery’s genetic repository under the conditions of Moscow Region. The cultivar productivity was evaluated against the most important criteria of brush length, number of flowers and inception under contrasting weather conditions. A high cultivar resistance was registered to winter-born injuries and phytopathogens, including powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca morsuvae (Schw.) Berk. et Curt.), Septoria leaf spot (Septoria ribis Desm.) and anthracnose (Pseudopeziza ribis Kleb.). The established productivity under satisfactory weather conditions in growing season ranges from 1.75 (Kaskad) to 3.5 kg berries per bush (Serpantin, Yarkaya, Zametnaya), in most samples averaging to medium values of 2.7-3.0 kg. The inception rate was highest to exceed 60 % in Niva, Asya, Marmeladnitsa, Rote Spatleze, Serpantin, Yarkaya and Zametnaya. The most large-fruited with a 0.75 g average berry weight were Zadunayskaya and Niva cultivars. Serpantin, Yarkaya and Zametnaya originated by the All-Russian Horticultural Institute for Breeding, Agrotechnology and Nursery are recommended in selection for productivity for total marketing value, A concise cultivar morphobiological profile, origin, ripening period, chemical fruit composition, vigour and growth descriptions are provided.
