In this paper, performance analysis of a grid connected DFIG for non-optimum power tracking is carried out. In most of the analysis an optimum value of power tracking is assumed. In this paper a variant of load flow technique with DFIG is presented where the power coefficient can be specified different from the optimal value. Newton-Raphson (NR) technique has been employed to embed the DFIG circuit equations in the load flow formulation. The steady state values thus obtained are not only evaluated but also verified using a third order dynamic model of DFIG. The study shows that such a non-optimal operation influences the converter ratings and also the speed of response of the dynamic model.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
