The experiment was conducted in the Central Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka from November 2015 to February 2016 with the aim of investigating the growth and yield attributes of cauliflower as influenced by different micronutrients and plant spacing. The experiment consisted of two factors, such as Factor A: Plant spacing (3 levels) as-S 1 : 50 cm × 50 cm, S 2 : 50 cm × 40 cm, S 3 : 50 cm × 30 cm and Factor B: Levels of micronutrients (4 levels) as-T 0 : B 0 Mo 0 (control), T 1 : B 1 . 0 Mo 0.5 kg/ha, T 2 : B 2 . 0 Mo 1.0 kg/ha, T 3 : B 3.0 Mo 1.5 kg/ha. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. All the studied parameters were significantly influenced by micronutrients and plant spacing. In case of plant spacing, the highest curd yield (39.89 t/ha) was found from S 2 and the lowest curd yield (35.00 t/ha) was found from S 1 . For micronutrients, T 2 treatment produced the highest curd yield (46.85 t/ha) and the lowest (24.41 t/ha) was from control. In case of combined effect, the highest curd yield (51.56 t/ha) was obtained from Original Research Article
An experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka from November 2015 to February 2016 to evaluate the growth and yield responses of cabbage cultivars as influenced by organic and inorganic fertilizers. The experiment comprised of two different factors such as (1) three varieties viz. V 1 (Atlas 70), V 2 (Keifu 65) and V 3 (Autumn 60) and (2) Four different fertilizers viz. F 0 (Control), F 1 (Cow dung), F 2 (Poultry manure), and F 3 (Inorganic fertilizer). The experiment was set up in Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The experimental plot was fertilized as per treatment with organic and inorganic fertilizers. Among the varieties, Atlas 70 (V 1) achieved the highest results of Plant height (31.94 cm), Leaf length with petiole (32.00 cm), Stem length (4.194 cm), Diameter of head (20.24 cm), Weight of whole plant (2.23 kg/plant), gross yield (46.67 t/ha), marketable yield (45.29 t/ha) and Economic production (1.576 kg/plant) at the time of harvest. With the interaction effect of variety and fertilizer; V 1 F 2 (Atlas 70 × Poultry manure) represented the highest Weight of whole plant (2.56
The experiment was conducted at Horticultural Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, during the period from October 2018 to February 2019 to study the application of nutrient sources interaction with NAA for higher growth and quality yield of purple cabbage. The experiment consists of two factors. Factor A: F0: control, F1: vermicompost (10 t/ha), F2: N180kg.ha-1; P66kg.ha-1 K75kg.ha-1 and F3: ½ vermicompost (5t. ha-1) + N90kg.ha-1; P33kg.ha-1 K38kg.ha-1 Factor B: four levels of NAA, N0: 0 ppm, N1: 20 ppm, N2: 40 ppm and N3:80 ppm was used for the present study. The experiment was carried out in RCBD with three replications. Results showed that the highest yield of purple cabbage (27.38 t/ha) was found from the mixture of vermicompost and NPK treatment and the lowest yield (16.05 t/ha) was found from the control treatment. For different levels of NAA, the highest yield of purple cabbage (25.39 t/ha) was found from the N2 (40 ppm) treatment and the lowest yield (15.41 t/ha) was found from N0 (control) treatment. In the case of combined effect, the highest yield of purple cabbage (36.80 t/ha) was obtained from F3N2 (½ vermicompost and ½ NPK doses + 40 ppm NAA) treatment combination, and the lowest yield (6.64 t/ha) was found from F0N0 (control) treatment combination. In Bangladesh conditions, the end of the Boro season begins floods and natural calamities and loses more rice in farmer's fields. If we can select early maturity genotypes for the Boro season, we can harvest our rice from the farmer's field before flooding or any other natural calamities. The study attempted to determine the short duration and high yielding rice genotype for Boro season in Bangladesh amongst the 13 Boro rice F6 lines by contrast with two (2) test varieties. Keeping in view this idea, the output of the genotypes studied, the relationship between different morpho-physio-chemical and yield-contributing characteristics between all the genotypes were investigated there under field and laboratory conditions. Among these 15 lines, G11 line showed better in the most yield contributing parameters. It is therefore concluded that the G11 genotype will be considered an appropriate line for the Boro season in Bangladesh.
