The use of the reaction of azide and alkyne cycloaddition for the synthesis of nucleic acid conjugates and DNA oligomer analogues is considered. The data on chemical and enzymatic techniques of azides and alkynes introduction into DNA are summarized.
The combined efforts of chemistry, nanotechnology, and spectroscopy led to the development of self-assembled fluorescent DNA nanostructures, an inexhaustible source of refined and bizarre tools and powerful techniques for research and diagnostic applications. This multidisciplinary area has tremendous prospects for science and technology.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
