ABSTRACT. This qualitative study attempts to ground the value-added contribution of sustainable HRM in accomplishing the organization's mission using Balanced Scorecard (BSC). For this purpose, semistructured interviews were conducted with HR and sustainability experts of three knowledge-based ICT companies and university professors, and the obtained data was analyzed using thematic analysis technique. Critical success factors were identified in each four BSC perspectives regarding sustainability strategy in HRM. The results obtained and conclusions drawn suggest that sustainable HRM and BSC provide more opportunities to attain long-term organizational and business success, especially in today's complex and dynamic business context. This paper could enable practitioners gain better understanding of key requirements to sustainability goals in the 21st century via effective integration of sustainable HRM and Balanced Scorecard.
Background and Objective: The internet can sometimes endanger the users' mental health due to its improper use. Accordingly, this communication network has turned into an addictive factor in recent decades. This kind of addiction can lead to depression. Regarding this, the present study was conducted to determine the relationship between internet addiction and depression among secondary school students. Materials and Methods: This descriptive and correlational study was conducted on secondary school students in Kordokuy city, Golestan, Iran, in the academic year of 2016-2017. The sample size was determined as 288 cases based on the Morgan sampling table. The study population was selected using cluster sampling method. The data were collected using the Beck Depression Inventory and Internet Addiction Inventory by Young. Data analysis was performed in SPSS (version 21) using independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Spearman's correlation coefficient. Results: According to the results, there was a direct relationship between addiction to internet and students' depression (r=0.324, P<0.001). The largest use of virtual networks was related to Telegram software with the mean value of 40.29. Furthermore, no significant difference was observed between the male and female students in terms of internet addiction and depression (P>0.05). Conclusion: Given the significant relationship between the internet addiction and depression among students, it is recommended to design and implement educational programs for students and parents.
The aim of this study was to develop a standard model of teachers' professional competence on the basis of high-level documents. Methodology: This was an applied research in terms of purpose and was a sequential exploratory mixed study in terms of data collection. Data collection tools in the qualitative phase were the analysis of the content of high-level documents to extract the components. In order to ensure the validity of the content analysis checklist, content and face validity method and expert opinion were used. The data in qualitative phase were analyzed through three open, axial and selective coding methods. The findings included 69 symbols in the open coding, where they were classified in the form of 4 concepts including recruitment, teacher education, teacher retention & promotion and evaluation in the axial coding. The research instrument in the quantitative phase was a researcher-made. Findings: The face and content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by experts in the field of education. Confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity, and divergent validity were used to evaluate the construct validity, and hybrid reliability was used to evaluate the construct reliability. As well as, in the quantitative phase of research, structural equations under Smart PLS software were used to evaluate the standard model of teachers' professional competence. All factor loadings were significant at 99% confidence level in developing the standard model of teachers' professional competence on the basis of high-level documents of Education. Conclusion: The results indicated that Managers, teachers, and administrators can employ the symbols, concepts, and categories identified in this study in their future planning to make the teachers' professional competence.
Background: Futures study is a science that, given changes in society, identifies future trends for making appropriate and practical decisions. Universities benefit from futures study research to improve their efficiency and make effective decisions. This is increasingly seen in medical sciences universities, which are responsible for public and specialized health education, and their quality development should be addressed. The purpose of this study was to identify components and key indicators of the qualitative development of medical sciences education and writing scenarios based on these. Methods: The present study is a mixed methods study carried out in the medical universities of Iran in 2018-2019. In this qualitative approach, the components and indicators of qualitative development of medical sciences education were identified by the classical Delphi method according to targeted sampling from 10 experts with content analysis that was identified and coded. Following the qualitative portion, a quantitative approach using Scenario Wizards software was used to design robust scenarios. Results: In all, 13 components and 48 indicators were identified in the qualitative development of medical sciences education from which robust scenarios can be considered for futures study,including optimistic, intermediary, and pessimistic scenarios. Conclusion: These results indicate how using each of the medical sciences education’s qualitative development components and indicators can lead medical sciences universities to consider favorable and unfavorable futures for planning and direction. Recognizing correct components and drawing scenarios for desired futures is essential.
Due to the fact that the quantitative development in higher education requires, on one hand, macro investments and challenges in order to provide new resources and making capacity, and on the other hand requires setting goals and long qualitative activities so that it shall not lead to reverse results; therefore, this matter should be conducted by programming and paying comprehensive attention to different aspects and indexes and this matter has caused educational and providential programming in the higher education future development to become inevitable.The goal of this paper is to design a fuzzy expert system for the quantitative development of higher education in Iran. Seeing as how the issuance of required licenses are conducted intensively at the Ministry of Sciences, Researches and Technology; therefore, this system is able to help as a decisionmaking-aid to the higher managers of this Ministry in making decisions regarding the quantitative development of higher education with regard to many elements such as: the structural space of the university, the number of faculty members, the University characteristics and facilities by considering the upper hand documents of higher education development. Designing this program consists of six steps. At the first step, the registered criteria are excavated on the basis of analyzing the content of the upper hand documents and distributing questionnaires among the higher education expert. At the second step, the ranges of alterations of lexical items are determined and at the third step they are changed to fuzzy amounts. At the fourth step, the fuzzy lexical base is compiled using the opinions of the experts and in the fifth step the syllogism engine of the programming system is executed and at the final step defuzzification is conducted.
