-Software quality assurance to comply with user requirements enables software development companies to be competitive. Maintaining a high quality level requires continuous monitoring and development. If there are quality problems, the company's reputation is suffering and its costs increase because of investing in time and eliminating the consequences of the problems. The aim of the present article is to identify the most essential root causes of software defect. The e-service "Invoice Submission" of Riga City Municipality is used as an example. The results of the study can provide useful information for developing improvement activities for e-service higher quality. The analysis is based on the information that is available in the developer's user request database. The Ishikawa method is used to analyse the causes of defects.
The Cloud computing solution has enormous potential to provide companies, industries and economy in general with remarkable benefits but there are certain challenges that have to be taken into account when choosing this solution. The purpose of this paper is to provide results of research about local governments' Cloud computing security, assisting them in making appropriate risk-based security decisions about how to securely embrace Cloud computing. To ensure that managing information of system-related security risks is consistent with the organization's mission/business objectives, and that information security requirements, including necessary security controls, are integrated into the organization's enterprise architecture and system development life cycle processes.
The development of e-business promotes the creation of new e-services; consequently, ways of fast and quality designing of e-services are required. When developing e-services in SOA, it is very important to build the architecture of e-business system that makes the e-service compliant with all and any quality criteria (QoS) specified for it, which would expand its usability; furthermore, it is necessary to implement any changes swiftly and in good quality to be able to adjust to the rapidly changing business environment. This means that effective design methods should be used in creating e-business systems and e-services, which would ensure the building of an acceptable e-business system architecture. A drawback of the existing methods is the subjective opinion of the system's architect, and that may not always lead to the best solution. Therefore, it is possible to apply the Quality Attributes Driven Design method for web services that is based on the use of formal optimisation methods. Initially the e-service is described as an algorithm graph, and by segmenting its vertices in all possible ways the web service graphs are obtained. The segmentation of the algorithm graph means that all the possible solutions that can affect the quality of the eservice system architecture are dealt with. Using multi-criteria optimisation, a Pareto optimality set is obtained from all the web service graphs. Web service graphs of the obtained Pareto optimality set can serve as the basis for selecting an acceptable e-business system architecture.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
