This paper presents a review on the seismic performance of steel beam connected to box column. The strength and deformation capacity of structural elements are influenced by their cumulative damages received through load cycles. Several researchers have been studying the behaviour of seismic performance of steel beam connected to box column filled with concrete but due to its complex behaviour yet it is not completely understood, where the international design standards and specifications are limited to the Hshaped columns. The rotational capacity and dissipated energy of the welded and bolted connections are discussed. The local responses for stress and strain in the vicinity of welded and bolted joints are also investigated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
