The purpose of this article was to present awareness of extreme and adventure tourism among Polish people. A diagnostic survey was performed in order to determine the actual state of understanding of leisure activities and preferences of the people regarding adventure tourism using online social networking sites like Facebook in July 2021. A total of 1080 Polish respondents participated in the study, and the data were analysed descriptively. In this study, we found that leisure tourism is mostly practiced (41%) among the respondents, and the extreme and adventure tourism market share is 14%. Around 40% of respondents said they never practiced adventure tourism, and 26% said they hardly practice once a year. This demands additional efforts to increase the market share for extreme and adventure tourism. Thus, tourism entrepreneurs and policymakers can promote extreme and adventure tourism in the country, focusing on young people. Similarly, 31% said adventure and extreme tourism are dangerous. This means people must first overcome their psychological fear of participating in such activities. Thus, to encourage people in adventure and extreme tourism, the tourists’ fears should be removed and psychologically motivated. Then, ensuring safety measures, short training, and awareness campaigns focusing on the young increases their participation in adventure and extreme tourism. The safety measures and positive psychology in younger people increase the adventure and extreme tourism market.
Agritourism can enhance rural development and is a useful alternative activity to increase farm incomes. It has attracted the attention of agricultural experts and researchers around the world in recent years. As a result of rapid growth worldwide, agritourism has become one of the most significant supplementary income sources for farmers. The main purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing participation of fermer in agritourism in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan, using scientific studies and statistical data, which indicate that there are great opportunities for agritourism activities. Increasing the economic potential of the rural areas by introducing innovative activities on the Samarkand region’s medium-sized farms (fermers) and ensuring sustainable development are essential. In Samarkand, there are a lot of conditions for the development of tourism, especially agritourism. The study examined all 10 agritourism fermers and 100 randomly selected fermers in Samarkand that do not carry out agritourism activities. Based on this data collection and analysis using a logistic regression model, the results showed several factors influencing the participation of fermers in the Samarkand region in agritourism activities, which was analyzed using the logistic regression model. According to the results of this model, each fermer’s income, employment, fermer’s education, and distance from the city had a significantly positive effect on the fermer’s initiation of agritourism.
The study assessed the determinants of efficiency of poultry egg production in Surkhandarya province of Uzbekistan. Data was collected through a multi-stage sampling technique and analysed using stochastic production frontier. The results revealed that feed intake and utility were the most important inputs in poultry egg production in the area. Furthermore, the study found the average efficiency estimate to be 87.64% and this was influenced positively by education, access to credit and experience. However, about 12.36% of the profit was lost to technical inefficiency. Findings from the study also showed that farmers were operating in stage one of production at 1.04, which is the area of increasing returns to scale. The study thus recommends that efforts should be made at ensuring the poultry farmers have access to credit and educational programs should be organized to sensitize farmers more on how to improve on their efficiency level. It is also recommended that farmers increase their stock of birds, have membership of Parrandasanoat Association, feed and utilities in other to operate at the stage two of production.
