Purpose of the study: One of the most important terms to solve the problems of the education system is the educational institution’s intellectual capital, which significantly transforms the role and functions of the modern educator. The purpose of the article is to identify the essence of the University's intellectual capital and to justify the trajectory of its development, due to the needs and capabilities of education stakeholders. Methodology: Based on the methodology of education quality management the article justifies the leading role of quality education as an imperative of the University development. Intellectual capital is considered from the standpoint of organizational resources that determine the cost of the final product – the quality of education and the competitive position of the University; its development is carried out based on the project-target approach. Results: Modern requirements for the intellectual capital of the educational organization are revealed, the role and essence of pedagogical activity of teachers of higher education institutions in its formation are shown. The importance of continuous improvement of hard and soft competencies of University teachers as a way of incrementing intellectual capital is shown. The adaptive model’s design of University teachers’ career strategies based on design-target mechanisms is presented that determines the organizational development of the University. Applications of this study: The results determined the possibility to consider organizational and human knowledge and competence as a special type of investment to improve the functioning of the University. The recommendations for the construction of models of the University intellectual capital management are presented. The article is intended for employees of the education system, educators, researchers, and heads of the University departments. Novelty/Originality of this study: The contribution is made to the theory of the University’s social and cognitive management based on expanding the powers of quality management in the field of intellectual capital management.
The relevance of this article is in the need to study digital communications that affect the quality and content of education, its compliance with modern requirements and determine the level of intellectual potential of society. The University, as a Communicator, an intermediary between the student and the information provided to it, is forced to change the centuries-old traditions in order to stay on the market, in the face of fierce competition of the appeared open distance courses. The purpose of the research is to analyze the role of digital communication in the educational request of students. Research methods: As research methods, the following one was used: online questionnaire survey that allows you to analyze the prerequisites for the development of digital communication in the educational process and identify new opportunities in education through the personal account of the student. Research results: the article examines the reasons for using the personal account and determines the prospects for its further development in the University environment. The novelty and originality of the research lies in the fact that the concept of digital communication is considered in the context of education and its functions are highlighted. The main features of digital communication are presented. The level of approval of existing and potential innovations by active student users (chat for communication, modified portfolio, task scheduler and Bulletin Board from the Institute) is determined. The opinion of students regarding the content of the main page of the personal account is revealed. The preconditions for the development of digital communication in the educational process are investigated: the emergence of digital natives' generation; the resulting request to continuing education; growing importance of self-education; formation of the concept of anticipatory learning; rapid development of open education; a trend to introduce elements of gamification into educational process; the universal gadgetization. The essence of the information and educational environment of the University and the opportunities it provides are studied. The possibilities of the student personal account as a single information space are considered. Recommendations for the modernization of the personal account are given: to rename the group of incomprehensible and non-visited subsections by students; to change the content of the main page by moving the schedule and the number of the school week on it. Most teachers understand that attrition has been a dilemma in the profession for years. However, the problem of teacher turnover has lately provoked more widespread public attention. Those circumstances also lead multiple teachers to quit altogether, resulting in high rates of turnover in schools. This revolving door of teachers is embarrassing for schools. Plus, teacher turnover damages student performance, dissuades educators, and is costly for districts. To enhance student achievement and decrease teacher protests, we must advance long-term solutions to support schools in retaining effective teachers. The purpose of the study is to analyze the state of staff turnover in the modern teaching staff, identify its causes and develop recommendations for decision-making aimed at reducing its undesirably high level. As a research method, we used a questionnaire survey as a method that allows us quickly, effectively to investigate the features and problems that arise in the process of psychologically economic assessment of teaching staff turnover. The article considers the problems, dynamics, and causes of staff turnover in the teaching staff. The study novelty and originality lie in the fact that the factors affecting the personnel turnover in the teaching staff are considered (psychological, professional-pedagogical and economic factors are identified). It is shown that job satisfaction is the main psychological factor affecting the turnover of teaching staff.
Introduction. A distinctive feature of modern education is the need to create effective learning conditions for each student as a part of the educational process at school. The ability of an educational institution to organize the educational process, taking into account the individual characteristics of students, is called adaptability. The risk of low adaptability of the educational process is one of the factors for the decline in educational results at school. Purpose of the article: find out indicators that determine the risk of low adaptability of the educational process at schools with low educational results and determine the pedagogical conditions for its minimization. Materials and methods. The study was carried out with the help the study, a theoretical analysis and generalization of psychological and pedagogical literature, of content analysis of normative documents (reports on self-examination, concepts and school development programs) of 11 schools with low educational results in the Orenburg region (the Russian Federation). What is more, the survey of leaders and teachers of experimental schools was conducted in the online form. Results. The study established indicators that determine the risk of low adaptability of the educational process at schools with low educational results. An analysis of school regulations and program documents, carried out on the basis of established indicators, showed that systematic work to reduce the risk of low adaptability of the educational process in 82% of schools is at a low level, in 18% – at an average level. Based on the results of the survey, it was established that the factors hindering the organization of the educational process, taking into account the individual characteristics of students, according to respondents, are the following: low involvement of parents in the educational process – 54%, insufficient use of the capabilities of modern educational technologies to organize the educational process, taking into account the individual characteristics of students – 25%, unformed system of individual work with students with learning difficulties – 16%, fragmentary implementation of formative assessment in the educational process – 7%. The obtained data of the study allow determine the pedagogical conditions for minimization the risk of low adaptability of the educational process at schools with low educational results. Conclusion. A study of the adaptability of the educational process at 11 schools of the Orenburg region with low educational results shows the need for changes in the organization, contents and technologies of education. The results of the study can be used to provide targeted support to schools with poor educational outcomes.
Introduction. The article examines the problem of low learning outcomes of schoolchildren in the modern education system. The purpose of the article is to identify and summarize the ways of overcoming students’ academic failure from the standpoint of foreign and Russian studies for their use at schools. Materials and Methods. To achieve the aim of the review, 63 full-text sources were analyzed. The study used general research methods of theoretical knowledge, thematic content analysis, synthesis of theoretical foundations, and comparative method for identifying and summarizing research on ways of overcoming students’ academic failure in foreign and Russian theory and practice and their use at schools. The generalization of the research results was based of the systematic approach. Results. Analysis of the studies has shown that in order to overcome student failure at school, it is necessary to introduce practical methods in schools that will bring about a reduction in the level of unsuccessful students. Schools' work to involve parents in their children's education and school activities (engagement at home, engagement at school, academic socialization) has a positive impact on reducing student failure at school. A special role of the parent community is to develop students’ motivation to learn. The work of schools to integrate formal and non-formal education expands the educational space and contributes to overcoming school failure, developing the emotional, intellectual, communicative sphere, educational motivation and social advancement of students. The use of various forms of mentoring in schools mainly leads to the design of programs for students' personal growth, building their own professional path of self-development and developing motivation for learning. Using international experience in applying developmental programs in Russian schools will ensure equalization of starting opportunities for students with low socio-economic status. Conclusions. The review concludes that the introduction of ways to overcome the academic failure (parental involvement, supplementary education, using various forms of mentoring and international practices of developmental education programs) in the school practice will contribute to reducing the rate of student failure in school.
