Systemic hypertension is common, and there is significant heterogeneity in the patient population with critical heart disease. There are limited large, prospective analyses of safety and efficacy for pediatric drug antihypertensive agents. Despite patient heterogeneity, most pharmacotherapies are safe and efficacious.
