Literacy is a tool of communication which could help people to know the natural surroundings without any real experience, but they could know the events of the past. As a relic, the literacy cannot be ignored. For example, the literacy of Arabic-Malay is a tool to write Malay language for the people who live in the archipelago. With the help of the Arab-Malay literacy, Moslem sholars, kiais, and teachers are able to produce real works that characterizes the traditional writing of citizens. The works of the past people implemented in Arabic-Malay and Malay are called Malay manuscripts. The number of Malay manuscripts is innumerable and has been saved by 28 countries in the world. The Malay manuscripts will not contribute to society nowadays if they are not read and the people do not understand their contents. Therefore, it is important to do a research for the existence of the Arab-Malay literacy in the archipelago. Moreover, the deep research is needed to know its role to read the Malay manuscripts which are ones of the intellectual treasures of the archipelago till the manuscripts can be understood by the people now. It is very necessary to do because the Arab-Malay literacy as a part of the archipelago culture has been "forgotten" for a long time. In studying the Arabic-Malay literacy existence and its role, the writer prefers using literatures. It means that this article focuses on library research because the analysis is directed to the books and writings related to the discussion.
This paper aims to find out the digital Malay manuscript as a source of studies in the field of Islamic education. Malay manuscript is one of the nation's documents written manually using Arabic-Malay characters and in Malay. This means that the Malay manuscript is a stroke of the local genius of the nation and is an intellectual icon of the people of his day. But along with advances in technology, the Malay manuscript also experienced development through this technology by means of digitalization. In terms of methodology, this paper is a study of historical and cultural heritage involving Malay manuscript, so this study uses descriptive qualitative methods that are linked to analysis and interpretation and finally focuses on content analysis. At the end of the study it was found that in addition to the Quran and Hadith which are the sources of Islamic education studies, it turns out that the digital Malay manuscript can be used as the next source, because the Malay manuscript is a legacy of cultural heritage that is loaded with noble values of life such as social, political, religious, educational, culture, economics, language, literature and so on. Therefore, digital Malay manuscript is an ICT-based innovation that can be used as a source of study of Islamic education. Digital Malay manuscripts are very easy to obtain because in various places where Malay manuscripts have been digitalized, scientists can use them. In addition, digital Malay manuscripts can be accessed through the internet with various sites.

Zapin consists of three elements which are complementary to create movement harmony and rhythm that beautiful to look, heard and seen. They are music, song and dance. Zapin is one culture comes from Arab that developed in archipelago line with Islamization process. Zapin in Nusantara grew and developed in accordance with the customs and conditions of the local community. It becomes palace art for events such as welcoming guests and celebrations in the kingdom and also entertainment for society. The study aims to determine the contribution of Zapin in the Curricullum 2013. A Mixed research was used where the data taken from documentation, observation, and interview. The finding of the study showed that although modern art has been rife enter and expand in the archipelago but Zapin as cultural heritage still exist in society because of its content in accordance with teaching point and attitude of society that moral and spiritual precedence. It means that Zapin with all devices containing a core competence value contained in curriculum 2013. It is concluded that the contribution of Zapin as one of Malay traditional arts might contribute to the strengthening of curriculum 2013.
