The Western Mediterranean populations of D. subobscura have a very similar chromosomal inversion polymorphism to the American colonizing populations, with the exception of the O5 inversion. This inversion, which is found in appreciable frequencies in colonizing populations and is distributed according to a significant latitudinal cline, both in North and South America, has never been reported in that Palearctic region. Therefore, an analysis of the distribution of this inversion, along a latitudinal cline, has been carried out in Europe. The O Chromosome inversion polymorphism has been studied in seven populations: Gävle and Lilla Edet (Sweden), Gesten (Denmark), Ter‐Apel (Holland) and Crézy, Aizenay and Taulé (France). The O5 inversion was only detected in three populations and in low frequencies: Gävle (3.7%), Lilla Edet (1.8 %) and Taulé (1.2 %). However, none of these three populations has all the inversions found in the American populations. The clinal distribution of some O chromosomal arrangements has also been studied according to latitude and the temporal changes of this polymorphism.
Este artículo presenta un proyecto artístico que trata de mostrar algunos resultados de la experiencia desarrollada gracias a la colaboración del equipo de Genómica Computacional dirigido por D. Torrents del BSC-CNS de la Universidad Politécnica de Barcelona. La Colección Alineamientos consta de una serie cuadernos que comparan textos científicos y literarios. Se trata de una visualización en torno a la relación existente entre la código gramátical de un texto y la codificación genética a través de las cadenas de ADN. Un Alineamiento de secuencias en bioinformática es una forma de representar y comparar dos o más secuencias de ADN para resaltar zonas de semejanza que indican relaciones funcionales o evolutivas entre los genes. This is a visualization of two artists from the University of Barcelona about the relationship between a grammatical text and DNA code. A Sequence Alignment in bioinformatics is a way to represent and compare two or more DNA sequences to highlight areas of similarity indicating functional or evolutionary relationships between genes. Errors, noise, accidents, interruptions, saturation, chaos, disorder are often related to the results of questioning, just as they are difficult words that we quickly identify as pejorative, which we do not understand or expect, what we despise. Many artists refer to the world as human excretion, virus, vomit, sterile, within the limits of institutional and governmental power. This article aims to approach some artistic practices that have, under a perspective of questioning the status quo of the system, dealt with the multiform of what we have often called error.
