The article evaluates the satisfaction of the elderly about the quality of the Brazilian Public Health Service, based on an integrative literature review study, which gathers information published between 2011 and 2018, about this group the perception of related to the service provided by the health care network. This consists of five stages: guiding question elaboration, literature search, critical data analysis, data integration and presentation of results. It was consulted SciElo, LILACS and Capes Periodicals databases, with the following descriptors: "elderly", "user satisfaction", "health service evaluation" and "primary health care". After selecting the studies, 14 articles were used to structure this integrative review. It is noticed that a good part of the elderly population feels satisfied with the service that is offered by most institutions in the public health network. However, controversies are observed in studies, since some presented a positive evaluation in several aspects cited by the elderly, such as, the care and guidance provided by professionals, while others, exhibit these same indicators considered serious weaknesses, such as ease of access to these services. Therefore, the satisfaction of the elderly with the public health service was noted, among which the assistance and guidance of the different professionals were the best evaluated indicators by the respondents.
OBJECTIVE: This study aims to investigate the association between the immunohistochemical expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 and plasma zinc in women with fibroadenoma. METHODS:This cross-sectional study included 37 premenopausal women with fibroadenoma. Waist circumference and body mass index of the participants were measured. Plasma zinc concentrations were determined using atomic flame absorption spectrophotometry. Fragments of breast tissue were fixed and incubated with primary mouse monoclonal antibodies (monoclonal antibodies matrix metalloproteinase -2 -507 and monoclonal antibodies matrix metalloproteinase -9-439). Semi-quantitative analysis of matrix metalloproteinase-2 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 immunoreactivity was performed. Spearman's test and Friedman's test were used for statistical analyses. The p<0.05 were considered statistically significant. RESULTS:The average age of the participants was 32.81±9.51 years. The body mass index and waist circumference values were within the normal range. The mean plasma zinc concentration was 42.73±13.84 μg/dL, with 94.6% inadequacy. A statistically significant difference was found between the positive expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (p=0.0184). There was no significant correlation between the matrix metalloproteinase expression and the plasma zinc levels.CONCLUSIONS: Women with fibroadenoma had hypozincemia and positive expression of metalloproteinases.
The article aims to analyze risk factors that increase weaknesses in residents of Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly. The study is characterized as an integrative literature review that consisted of six stages: definition of the theme and formulation of the guiding question; establishment of inclusion and exclusion criteria; definition of descriptors; pre-selection of articles; evaluation of selected studies; and presentation of the review. Sixteen studies were reviewed, between the years 2016 to 2019, based on the search in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), LILACS and Pubmed databases using as descriptors Elderly, Long Term Care Institution for the Elderly, frailty, malnutrition, depression, accidents due to falls. According to evidence from these studies, depression stands out among the risk factors that increase weaknesses in institutionalized elderly people, which may be associated with the institutionalization time, self-perceived health and quality of sleep. There was also a prevalence of malnutrition in this group of elderly people, as well as an increased risk of falls, which may be related to the individual's psychological health and impaired nutritional status. Such factors considerably affect the health condition and quality of life of this population. It appears that knowledge about the main risk factors that increase weaknesses in institutionalized elderly people is of paramount importance for the application of preventive actions, aiming to preserve their health.
