We present a list of the species of birds that have been recorded in La Libertad Region, a highly diverse semi-arid region located in northwestern Peru. Records are based on field observations, literature research, and databases of scientific collections. We recorded a total of 484 species in this region. These include 45 endangered species, and 42 species endemic to Peru. This list is intended as a guide for future programs of management and conservation of biodiversity in the region.
Goal: Evaluation of the ChocChoc wetland through Direct Influence Matrix (MDI) Materials and Methods: For the diagnosis, two lagoons (A and B) were selected, located in the Chorobal sector, Moche district, La Libertad region, Peru. The wetland system was divided into three sub systems: influencing factors, generated problems and environmental impacts; which was evaluated by direct influence matrix (MDI). To corroborate the situation, the water quality was measured, inventory of the bird fauna was made and the flora was evaluated within the lagoon during the months of May -August 2018, using the transect method. Results: Problems generated: disappearance of pioneer species, soil erosion, and desiccation of the wetland and water pollution. Of the 42 bird species recorded during the inventory, 78.57% are residents and 21.43% boreal migratory. The water analysis confirmed that it does not meet the quality criteria and the loss of biodiversity was confirmed. Conclusions: The impact of the anthropic actions on the wetland are severe.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
