One of the natural processes that we face each and every one of the beings that coexist on this planet, whether alive or not, is the deterioration due to interaction with the environment. The most natural form of deterioration in which metals return to minerals, as they are found in nature, is known as corrosion, a process that is affected by multiple environmental factors. The surface condition of a metal sample is an aspect that infl uences the magnitude and type of corrosion.
