As known, international trade, which can be thought as the way that individuals, organizations, and countries fulfill their needs, is a very important concept. Although, for a long time, international trade has been associated with only international trade of physical products, especially after 2000s, researchers have begun to think that there can be international trade of services which is different from international trade of goods. In this sense, both of differences among these two concepts, and factors, that possibly affect and are affected by these two concepts, became an area that requires to be understood clearly in the literature. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the relationship between the variables (globalization, foreign direct investment, informal economy, and internet technology), that are not widely studied in Turkish literature in terms of service trade, and Turkish service export. To understand the relationship among mentioned variables, cointegration analyzes was conducted for the period of 1970-2018 by using ARDL model. As a result of the analysis, it was understood that the answer to the question of whether the effects of the factors affecting the trade of goods differ for the export of services is yes based on the example of Turkey. In this direction, it has been observed that globalization has the opposite effect of what is expected. Lastly, this research provides some recommendations for policymakers.
Today, service sector is the dominating sector of especially developing and developed economies. Herein, gaining national advantage in international trade in services is critical for each country. Therefore, this research considers infrastructure as one of sources of national advantage and examines the impact of infrastructure (divided roads, railways, medical institutions, tourism operation certificated businesses, universities) on service export in Türkiye. In accordance with this purpose, cointegration analysis was carried out for the period of 1982-2020 by leveraging ARDL model. The results indicate that while divided roads, railways and the number of tourism operation certificated businesses have positive and significant impact on service export in Türkiye, the number of universities and medical institutions have negative and insignificant effect on service export in Türkiye. At the end of the research some recommendations for policymakers are provided.
Organizations are struggling with severe circumstances brought by COVID-19. When overly increased uncertainty and complexity in a pandemic are considered, strategic management has gained importance. Thus, researchers have focused on strategic management from different perspectives and this situation has led to that strategic management literature considering COVID-19 incredibly enlarged. Here, this research aims to show the architecture of the current literature and examine it with a holistic and critical perspective provided by using bibliometric analysis and critical systematic review concurrently. 226 articles were determined to represent the literature in two steps: (i) WOS search based on keywords and (ii) eliminating irrelevant articles by reading. To realize research aims, a twofold research method was adopted. By leveraging bibliometric analysis, the map of the current literature was shown. Then, a critical systematic review based on content analysis of 226 articles was carried out. Herein, more/less studied fields and future research directions were shared, and methods & levels of analysis of research were shared.
