A new cave-dwelling species of the poorly defined genus Mesoiulus Berlese, 1886, M. taurus sp. nov., is described from the Zindan Cave, Isparta, Western Taurides, Turkey. A brief discussion of the relationship between M. taurus sp. nov. and the most similar species (M. ciliciensis Strasser, 1975) is presented, as well as a map showing the distribution of the genus Mesoiulus in Turkey.
The first detailed data on species composition of leaf beetles of Hatila Valley National Park, Artvin, Turkey are presented. During the field surveys conducted in 2015, in total 49 species of Chrysomelidae from 26 genera belonging to 7 subfamilies were registered. Among them, 30 species are recorded for the first time from Artvin Province. The subfamily Galerucinae is the most diverse and includes 23 species in the park (18-Alticini, 4-Galerucini and 1-Luperini), however two subfamilies, Criocerinae and Eumolpinae, are represented by only one species each. According to the literature, Chrysochus asclepiadeus (Pallas, 1773) is represented by two subspecies in the western Palaearctic, including C. asclepiadeus asiaeminoris De Monte, 1948, which was described from south-western Turkey but has not been recorded since 1948. Recently collected specimens from the provinces of İzmir and Isparta (not far from the type locality of C. asclepiadeus asiaeminoris) were compared with specimens of the nominate subspecies from Kiev (Ukraine). It is concluded that C. asclepiadeus asiaeminoris is a synonym of the nominate subspecies (syn. n.). The distribution of the species in Turkey is discussed.
The aims of the study were to investigate the Arthropoda fauna of Zindan Cave (Aksu, Isparta Province, Turkey) and to consider some ecological characteristics of the collected species such as feeding habits, cave-dwelling categories, and zone distributions in caves. Twenty-seven species of Arthropoda were determined between May 2015 and December 2016, from Zindan Cave. The species found belong to the following orders: nine to Collembola, six to Coleoptera, five to Araneae, two to Diplopoda and one to Orthoptera, Trichoptera, Diptera, Trombidiformes and Isopoda. Nine species are endemic of Turkey. Traegaardhia distosolenidia Zacharda, 2010 (Acari: Rhagidiidae) and Folsomia asiatica Martynova, 1971 (Collembola: Isotomidae) are newly recorded for the fauna of Turkey. The presence of Heteromurus sexoculatus Brown, 1926 (Collembola: Entomobryidae) in Turkey is confirmed. Twenty-four of the 27 species were from the dark zone and half of the collected species (6 troglobites and 8 troglophiles) are ecologically adapted to cave ecosystems. Species can be divided into three groups according to trophic preferences: 15 scavengers, 10 predators and two omnivores. Food habits, cave-dwelling categories, and zone distributions of collected species are discussed.
Çalışmada, endemik yaprak böceği Psylliodes anatolicus Gök ve Çilbiroğlu, 2004’nın günümüz ve farklı iklim değişikliği senaryolarına (Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 4.5 ve 8.5) göre gelecekteki (2050 ve 2070) potansiyel yayılış alanlarının tahmin edilmesi için tür dağılım modellerinin yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Türün dağılış kayıtları ilgili literatür ve yazarların yayınlanmamış kayıtlarından derlenmiştir. Türün günümüz ve gelecekteki dağılışları Community Climate System Model 4 (CCSM4) iklim değişikliği senaryolarına göre maksimum entropi (MaxEnt) metodu kullanılarak tahmin edilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda, izotermallik, en nemli çeyreğin ortalama sıcaklığı ve mevsimsel sıcaklık türün dağılışını belirleyen en etkili biyoiklimsel faktörler olarak bulunmuştur. Günümüz dağılış modeli, bilinen yayılış alanının aksine, türün Ege ve Akdeniz bölgelerinin büyük bir bölümünde bulunabileceğini ortaya koymuştur. Gelecek dağılış modelleri ise, türün dağılış alanının iklim değişikliği nedeniyle 2050 ve 2070 dönemlerinde oldukça daralacağını veya hatta gelecek 50 yıl içinde neslinin tükenebileceğine işaret etmiştir. Bu çalışma değişen iklime bağlı olarak, dağ ekosistemlerinde yaşayan endemik türlerin başta olmak üzere, tüm Anadolu endemik biyoçeşitliliğinin tehdit altında olduğuna işaret etmektedir.
