Ketidakberhasilan peserta didik untuk memecahkan persoalan dalam pembelajaran dimungkinkan sebagai akibat pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan selama ini menggunakan strategi belajar mengajar dengan cara klasikal yaitu aktivitas di kelas di domonasi oleh guru, maka dari itu, guru harus pandai memilih metode, pendekatan, model pembelajaran dan teknik mengajar yang sesuai dengan materi yang akan diajarkan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memilih pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah, apakah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman matematik sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kontekstual? Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah : "terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman matematik sebelum dan sesudah diberikan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kontekstual ". Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Pre-Experimental Design dengan bentuk One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V dengan jumlah peserta didik 34 orang Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes pemahaman matematik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, pengolahan data dan analisis data yang dibantu dengan SPSS 16 nilai signifikansi 0.000 kurang dari alpha yang ditentukan yaitu 0,05 dengan demikian Ho ditolak sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kontekstual.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan performance assesment dalam pembelajaran matematika pada model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Desain penelitian menggunakan the non-equivalent control group design, dengan populasi kelas VII yang berada di SMPN 1, 2, dan 3 Majalengka. Sampel diambil dua kelas untuk dipilih menjadi kelas yang melaksanakan PBM dan kelas yang melaksanakan pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen dengan teknik pengumpulan data tes kemampuan pemahaman matematik dan instrumen untuk mengukur kinerja siswa. Pelaksanaan performance assesment dilakukan pada proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Guru mengobservasi siswa sehingga terlihat kinerja siswa dalam belajar matematika. Hasil menunjukan bahwa kinerja siswa meningkat selama pembelajaran dilaksanakan dari mulai pertemuan pertama sampai dengan pertemuan kedelapan. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. ABSTRACT The objective of this study is to know the increase of performance assessment in mathematics learning on Problem Based Learning (PBL) models and to find out the improvement of student’s mathematical understanding skills between problem based learning class and conventional learning class. The research design uses the non-equivalent control group design. The population is 7th grade students in SMP N 1, 2, and 3 Majalengka. The Samples are two classes which are being selected as PBL and conventional learning. The study uses a quasi-experimental method. The data has been collected using mathematical understanding abilities test and students’ performance instruments. The implementation of performance assessment is carried out in the learning process. The teacher observes students so that students’ performance in learning mathematics can be analyzed. The study shows that student performance assessment increased from the first meeting to the eighth meeting. Furthermore, the improvement of students mathematical understanding ability between problem based learning class and conventional learning class is significantly different. Integrating science with other disciplines like technology and mathematics supports early childhood have awareness and interest in science and affects their overall school performance further down in their education. The integration is commonly referred to as STEM which is an acronym of science (S), technology (T), engineering (E), and mathematics (M). STEM Education is provided to achieve educational aims that prepare people for future life and the workforce. However, designing a STEM-based learning process needs more attention, moreover carried out in early childhood. This study investigates preparing lesson plan early childhood pre-service teachers teaching STEM through play. The study used the phenomenology approach, qualitative data collection through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The study involved pre-service early childhood teachers semester VII which has experienced the learning process of the Field Teaching Practices. The results showed that pre-service early childhood teachers when designing learning through games had an awareness that early childhood would provide a greater understanding of science concepts than children who teach science through direct instruction. Further findings show that designing the process of learning science through enjoyable experiences is a very important approach to promote students’ understanding of developing kindergarten science concepts.
