Dementia is one of the neurocognitive disorders that most affect the elderly population, and refers to severe damage to executive functions and is classified according to the condition. (Esparza, 2005). The objective of the research is to identify the prevalence of dementia in the elderly in an age range of 65 to 90 years old in the Destellos de Luz Center in the City of Durango, as well as its main risk factors and the characteristics of people with dementia using the MiniMental Test.
