Design of PET probes for anions working in an aqueous buffered solution is described. The design has been used to develop selective fluorescent probes for sulfate and pyrophosphate. The relationship between the selectivity of receptors towards anions, their conformation, fluorescence response and the pH of the solution has been studied in detail.
The objective of this article is to present the results of research designed to build a system of support for the psychological assessment of police drivers, including drivers of police emergency vehicles, as required by Polish law. Part of the research and development efforts, the project analyses the world’s most recent research (commercial and non-commercial projects) which is not subject to confidentiality rules. The analysis shows that the project will help to build a functional support system. Based on modern IT technologies and part of the Police’s PDTN network, the system will support the psychological assessment of police drivers, including drivers of police emergency vehicles. The system was implemented in IT network technology and can, as a result, operate directly with the Police Data Transmission Network (central server, access from any PDTN workstation) ensuring independence and security of data collection and storage.
Conducting safe coaching is essential for training police officers, who very often face a variety of unexpected and dangerous incidents. Their reaction to situations must be rapid and appropriate. To prepare officers for dangerous situations, but those that cannot be practiced in real life due to high costs, danger, time, or effort, virtual training seems to be the obvious choice. This article deals with the development of a calculation algorithm to assess the risk of actions taken on the site of a traffic incident, which was implemented into the training version of a virtual reality (VR) simulation. It includes a number of factors and elements that form a scenario of simulations that affect the degree of its difficulty and the assessment of the performance of each exercise. The different components of the algorithm that make it possible to assess the skills of the students of police specialist courses are presented. The acceptance criterion for the developed algorithm shall be the correct assessment of the student’s skills during the course of the training.
