Biologically important 21 new symmetrical bis 3,4‐dihydropyrimidin‐2(1H)‐ones/thiones were synthesized by reacting 4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether/4,4′‐ethylenedianiline with tert‐butyl acetoacetate to produce diphenyl ether‐bridged bis β‐keto amide/diphenyl ethane‐bridged bis β‐keto amide then treated with urea or thiourea and an appropriate aldehyde with either a catalytic amount of p‐TSA·H2O or conc. HCl in ethanol afforded the title compounds.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
