Es wurden die Mischungsenthalpien innerhalb der Serie von Systemen MeClGdCl3 (Me Alkalimetall) und der Serie NaClLnCl3 (Ln Lanthanoidenelement) sowie der Systeme NaBrNdBr3 und NaJNdJ3 in Abhängigkeit von der Zusammensetzung bestimmt. Der Verlauf der λf gegen f Kurven wird gedeutet. dabei werden in den Systemen MeClGdCl3 (MeK, Rb und Cs) nur Komplexe der Zusammensetzung GdCl63− nachgewiesen. Die Bindungskräfte innerhalb der Spezies sind überwiegend ionogen. Die Tendenz zur Bildung solcher Komplexe wächst (a) mit wachsendem Radius des Alkaliions, (b) mit abnehmendem Radius des Lanthanoidenions und (c) mit abnehmendem Radius des Halogenidions.
